Hey guys! I've been thinking about getting a looted veichle for my orks, and so I wanted your opinion.

Should I get a Land Raider, Leman Russ, Predator or Baneblade? (I haven't got the new codex yet so I don't know if orks are allowed to loot a Baneblade)

I just made a looted predator a lil while ago, super fun model to make, but they are kinda meh table-wise. i used scraps of steel sheet metal to make extra armor and give it a more orky feel, i also used a bunch of bits from a rhino to make a reinforced ram. wish i had a camerea so i could so my awesomeness lol.

You can loot a baneblade but it would then go into the super-heavies class and it comes under the name "Skullhamma".



I went with a predator myself. They are kinda easy to do, just add on some scrap sheet, couple of spiky ram bits or a deffrolla, drill some bullet holes and whack on a glyph or two. Suitable paintjob and your done. Heres mine at WiP level, its now painted up

Use the leman russ tank hull and the battle wagon kannon turret and the cannon from the battle wagon upgrade kit to make the deff gun.

If you're planning on using the looted vehicle as a transport wagon, you need a Leman Bus:

FIRST! ask yourself, what do I want?
do you want a more durable troop transport? then go with a looted wagon. In that case its most like a chimera or rhino.
Do you want a heavy gun platform to shell the pooh out of your foes? Thats ALSO a looted wagon with a boom gun. In that case, probably a basilisk. (see my pics in my gallery)
You want to have a counts as battlewagon? then get a LR and go Orky on it. There are MANY conversions of those on here.

As cool as a skullhamma can look, unless you plan on playing APOC Id shy away from that. Its a pricey model to being with, and unless you play APOC, itll only be a battlewagon. And that sucks because its easily twice the size of a normal one, meaning there are all KINDS of rules that just end up hurting you.

It also kind of depends... Since they took out looting specific vehicles (why they did this I dont know... it was amazingly funny pushing the wrong button on my looted land raider and blowing up) So you could just buy the cheapest vehicle GW sells and loot it... or you could make something cool... You think... hey Baneblade sounds cool. Ill do it... While they are fun as hell to make (I myself have a looted baneblade/skullhamma and a looted shadowsword/stormlord) they are not fun to play with... They are HUGE and have like no deployment zone and cant really hide them from the opponent... I often use my two superheavies as battlewagons (just take the gun platforms off) but it sucks to use in game due to sheer size... Depends what you like though... If you DO decide on a baneblade or Shadowsword let me know... Ill post pics of mine for ideas... Sounds like you wanted too already.

The main body and gun are from the Russ, too, but with the body shortened and turned backwards. The trakks are upside down and backwards! Those krazy Orks!
The dozer blade was also part of the kit. Lolly-sticks and some Airfix parts make up the rest.

O'Da Tekk: I'd recommend picking up the Codex, so you can see what sort of wagon you want, before buying anything.
There are a few choices, and you can use a "looted" vehicle for any of them.
But as others have said, a Super-Heavy is going to be too big for most regular games.
Looted Land Raider wagons are far too common, IMHO. Go with something different!
Rhino with a trailer.
Chimera with tall "Crow's nest" tower on it.
Leman Bus (TM)
Predator with Mech Legs instead of trakks.
