Heads are ugly, the stowage has some choice bits in there and the classic tank commanders actually look really sexy with an up to date coat of paint.

I agree that they look much better with new paint, but I'm still passing.

I am interested in the Aquillas though. I need to see them in scale before I'll buy any though.

God those heads are terrible. Tank commanders were a good rerelease though.

I guess those heads would be good for that GW army, the Lost and Damned. Good thing you can still use the....wait a minute....

The Hellboy head is nice.

Wow those heads...GW is missing out on a lot of sales by not going with a Pig Iron Productions approach - many Guard players wants heads with no flesh showing ie gas masks and helmets/hats.

Those heads look like they came from a mutated genepool but I suppose that fits right in the 40k universe.

I like that GW are making bitz packs like the command squad box and these; however these new metal releases aren't going to open my wallet for 'em.

looks like they are giving some starter sculpter his shot, Not GW's usual approach but at least its a start. Would love to see a plastic "IG Conversion Bits Set" even if it was Direct order only. The new command box sets were a sep in the right direction for that. These heads leave something to be desired.

These heads are perfect for penal legion troops.

No they still make it, you just now have to buy it separately. It doesn't come with Guard tanks any more.

The ugly heads at least fit the pictures of Guardsmen from the Codex. They're ugly in that too.

My idea is the heads are for Ret*rded Guardsmen, or rejected wanna-be Traitor Guardsmen.

Those heads were actually released? why bother? I'd rather hammer my models flat than put those pieces of gak on them.

You are right, they are the plastic bits cast in metal.
GW did make the bits on the sprue in resin and metal when the IG did came out because the plastic sprue wasn't available when they need to paint the IG tank.... so they make some metal/resin bits and never released them. Until Now.

So what is the thought process behind releasing this and not something like say...studded marine shoulder pads? I'm sure that they cost about the same to produce. Does this make people happier? Will it sell better?

I'm thinking the heads were 'practice runs' for sculptors and probably not meant for production initially.

I'm betting they look better painted.

I bet you should stamp on them then throw them out and make a hobo confused. Plus it would make them better looking
