Currently at the moment these are the choices I have and I want to know what to buy next for my army. I play a lot of friendly games, so I like diversity.
HQ:
Vulkan He'stan
Champlain
Librarian
Captain or Chapter Master
Master of the Forge (or Techmarine elite)
Command Squad (company standard and champion included)
Troops:
5 sniper scouts
5 regular scouts
10 tactical marine squad ( mm and flamer)
10 tactical marine squad ( mm and flamer)
10 tactical marine squad ( mm and flamer)
Dedicated Transports:
1 Rhino
5 drop pods
Elites:
5 Terminators
5 Assault Terminators (All thunder hammers )
5 Sternguard
1 Dreadnought
1 OF EACH DAEMON HUNTER ASSASSIN (present from friend, dont ask )
Fast Attack:
5 Assault Marines
Heavy Support:
8 Devastator Squad (all different types/ switchable with Tactical marines)
1 Land Raider Redeemer
1 Predator
Remember these are all choices for any point army. I'm looking into what to buy next for my salamander army.

It really depends on what your marines are armed with, three tacticals squads are nice but what weapons do they have? 5 more Sternguard isn't a bad idea as you can put 4 combi-meltas in them and make a mess out of some vehicles in a hurry. Also 2+ Landspeeders with Multi-Melta and Heavy Flamers are really nice.

I think if you're going with Vulkan He'stan then it's likely the Tactical squads will be armed with some combination of Flamer and Melta weaponry.
If you're going for diversity, then some Techmarines, Bikes, Dreadnoughts, Land Speeders, Whirlwinds, Vindicators, Phobos Land Raiders, and extra Rhinos/Razorbacks seem to be on your list. And maybe some extra Assault Marines.

Looks to me like you could flesh out the fast attack section of your army. I suggest landspeeders or bikes as your next purchases.

Another box of thunder hammer termies and a Landraider Crusader and Some landspeeders.
Now you can build alot of different TH termie builds based around vulkan.

yeah I thought about that... but a 5man is already good and I already got 1 landraider.... usually 1 is fine if around 1500.
So far though everyone has agreed on landspeeders with heavy flamers and MM..... so that it is! but a nice list of what to buy would be nice...
so far its this...
1. Land Speeders
2. maybe another predator tank
3. whirlwind
4. rhinos

1. RHINOS! (if you don't already have them for your tac marines) 2. Landspeeders 3. Dreadnoughts 3. Predators (AC/HB but them being interchangable is probably the best) 4. More Assault Terminators The reason that there is 2 3's is because it's a play-style preference which to buy.

in every game I have ever played or seen.... rhinos have sucked!
their are ethier...
A. Shot to pieces on the first turn
B. Move once then shot to pieces
C. Raped by CC or MM
D. Monstrous Creature to the face then raped
E. Or shot then a hinderance the rest of the game
I dont like rape... it seems to me drop pods are better and cheaper

Yeah guess what, you took 5 drop pods? If I blow them all up, thats 5 KPs My deathwing army has about 7 kill points. Maybe 10 at 2k. That is a literal auto-loss for you unless you MASACCRE me. And because you took DP's good luck getting to those objectives 30 inches away without dying. DP don't move so I could go up and stick a MB on it and it's gone, and they can't move to contest objectives, tank shock, HIDE to prevent KP's and pop smoke, nor can they reposition units after they have been used. Using an army with DPA is not bad, but for vulcan ew IMO. But really, if you don't know how to use rhinos correctly....

If the game is killpoint based then yes Drop Pods are not very useful, but like this thread is about, im getting suggestions on what to buy and or use in my next battle.
So you suggest Rhinos? And if so any Rhino advice?

I was just warning you.
If you are DP list then don't get rhinos. Delete them from the list. It also helps to know what army you are playing, so if you are playing DP sallies....
1. More TH/SS Terminators.
2. Dreadnoughts
3. MM/HF Speeders

I'd say either 5 more Assault marines and/or 5+ Sisters of Battle to get a unit of Dominions. 4 twinlinked flamers that are Rending coming out of a Immolator is f***ing scary for anything

At this point it could go anyway. Im just preparing for my next battle and with all this advice its gonna be...
1. Some Landspeeders (Not sure how many)
2. Another Dreadnought (Not sure what kind)
3. MAYBE 2 more rhinos
The reason im againest more termies is that the games I always play are friendly... so I use the other 5 shooty marines as another 5 TH/ SS Terminators
