hello everyone i was wondering if someone can explain to me what stats are used to determine if an ork deffkopter scores a hit, wounds on a dreadnought? Its my first time playing as i am very new to the hobby.(models are from AoBR )thanks for the help i really appreciate it

Dreadnoughts dont have wounds, as they are a vehicle.

The values you will need are the Strength of the gun and the armour value (AV) of the dreadnought. Read the rulebook included in AoBR to find out how it works.

Ok this is how the shooting phase goes with what you are asking for.

The DeffKopta has twin-linked Rokkits. Those are Strength 8, 36 inch range. Lets say you are shooting at the front armor (Front of the Dreadnought Model) which has an Armor value of 12.
1. Declare that you are shooting at the Dreadnought with the Deffkopta's twin-linked rokkits.

2. Measure the distance to make sure you are within the rokkits range of the target.

3. THe Deffkopta as a BS of a 2. The chart in the AoBR rule book will show that the DeffKopta will need a score of a 5 or better on a single roll of one six sided dice (d6).

4. The Deffkopta rolls a 3 and misses but it is twin-linked so you get to re-roll the missed dice once. On the re-roll the score is a 5 and the rokkit hits the dreadnought's front armor.

5. Now you have to see if the rokkit harms the dreadnought. Now roll 1 d6 and add the score to the strength of the rokkit which is an 8.
If the total of the two scores equals 12 which is the dreadnoughts armor value then it is a glancing hit. If the score is greater than 12 then it is a penatrating hit which does more damage.
The score on the 1 d6 is a 5 which is a penatrating hit.

6. Now go to the armor damage chart in the back of the AoBR rule book. Roll 1 d6 to see what happens to the Dreadnought. On a roll of 5 and 6 the Dreadnought is destroyed. Scores of 4 or lower the Dreadnought could be immoblised, lose a weapon, or not move or shoot or both.
