Need help, my friends GF drew up a list and so did I, for her. I won't say who's is who's, just want peoples comments and suggestions.

List 1

Slaan DP (wings, lash)
Nurgle DP (wings, warptime)

10 KB, Champ w/ PF in Rhino
10 PM w/ 2 Melta guns, Champ w/ PF in Rhino
10 CSM w/ 2 Melta guns, Icon of Slaanesh, Champ w/ PW in Rhino
8 NM w/ 8 Sonic Blasters, Champ w/ Doom Siren and PW in Rhino

OR

List 2

Slaan DP (wings, lash)
Slaan Sorc (lash, icon, in Rhino w/ NM)

3 Termies w/ combi weapons

10 PM w/ 2 Melta guns, Champ w/ PF in Rhino
10 CSM w/ 2 Melta guns, Icon of Slaanesh, Champ w/ PW in Rhino

Just let me know, she has experiance but is at a new store w/ alot of SM and Tau, and a SW players.

Definitely list 2. No long range in 1. Also i would change the DPs to 2 nurgle with wings and warptime. I dont like lash princes just my personal taste.

I like list 2 Alot.

Number 2 is much better than 1 but still could use some more oblits. Maybe try squeezing in 3 squads of 2.

List 2 would make me cringe more as a Tau player than List 1. Termies and Oblits are much harder to kill than a bunch of normal Marines in a Rhinos.

List 2 gives you a lot more balance and spreads things out, rather than taking a bunch of troops and no other support options. As someone said, List 1 really doesn't have any range and requires you to close. As a Tau player with my shiny railguns, that makes me smile. List 2 has some ranged stuff to give me pause, as well as stuff that's trying to get in my face.

That does not make me smile.

List 2

List 1:
Decent mix of HQ’s, but a bit hvy on points there.
KB are ok.
PM are ok
CSM are ok (IoCG is my fav though)
NM are meh.

List 2:
Double lash…/sigh.
Termies are ok.
Troops are the same as above.

So what you did was drop the combat scoring troops for some DSing special weapons and some ranged cover fire…which is an even trade I guess.

I suggest the oblits be in a single or two squads, I don’t think inflating kill points is a good thing at these points levels.

I don’t know, I like the first list cause it has more bodies.
Oblits and termicides are nice, but I don’t think these are the points levels to include both at the cost of less troopers. Sure he needs to close to the enemy, but he's got four squads making their way there, it's a decent amount at 1500 points.

I love oblits as well, but if you are not filling out all hvy support slots with Vindis or defilers or (max sized) oblits in an assorted variety (of like 2 Defilers and 3 oblits) then I don't think it's a need basis.

I wouldn't drop stuff just for oblits, even though they are full of awesome.

IMO you have to look at the points level you are playing. I think more troopers at low levels makes more sense.

If you have more points to play with, then oblits are a great inclusion, but they are supporting elements to the back bone of the Chaos army that is the troops. You can never go wrong with more troops.
