Im wanting to make some gue vesa for my Tau Farsight army and i wanted to know if this would be possible because i can only use tau units

Do you have the list of restricted units? Unless it mentions them, then I think you can.

It seems likely. I mean it is for the greater good...

I don't think they were allowed, even in the old Index Astartes article just because Farsight was supposed to be "cut off" from the Empire and didn't even tolerate Kroot in his forces, much less humans.

@ Emperors Faithful: thanks and yeah in the codex the only thing it says is that i can't use kroot or vesvid

any one have any good pics of any gue vesa that they have made?
some more ideas would be great before i start making mine

@Kanluwen : i'll keep looking at the rules and ask GW and other sights to see what they think. It does say in the history of their battles that Farsight had fought the Imperial Guard but idk

If you are using the PDF file made by GW, just make sure to talk it over with your opponent beforehand. Shouldn't be an issue, but it never hurts to communicate!

I think you should not be surprised if this outdated and no longer available PDF needs your opponents consent.
With farsight and his well known refusal of "allies", any non-Tau models doesnt make sense.

Youre idea has been hit with GW's hammer of change. Farsight isnt part of the 'empire' anymore.
He may need allies to survive, but i doubt the quote in the Tau dex supports you.

So from the 'official fluff' POV, Tau may include kroot/vespids.
If Farsight cant take them, where should he get someone else from?

Problem, since GW dropped such concept in whfb and wont make it happen in 40k ever.
( kroot had this concept, until GW dropped it alonside the gue vesa )

The only available option will be friendly games where anything goes.

@Warpetrie:There are some pretty nice ge-seva or whatever on a website called eastern empires.

There are no Gue'vesa in the Tau Empire codex. It was a PDF put out by GW on their website.

If you want to use them, just get some Cadians, give the sergeant a pulse carbine or rifle, and paint them in Tau colours. I can't remember the point cost, probably the same as what IG used to cost in 3rd edition.

You'll never be able to use them in a tournament. You should be OK for friendly games.

Or apoc. games

TBFH, you are better off just making Gue'vesa models and using them as Fire Warriors. Prevents so many arguments.

And Farsight is one of the LEAST racist things in 40k, apart from perhaps the Tyranids or the Necrons (who don't count as they only feel hunger/don't feel), the Mainstream Tau, who are pretty racist/evil anyway (as evidenced by their "Join Us? Join Us Please? Join us or We Nuke From Orbit" 3 step Program) and the Orks (Dey iz juzt lookin' for a good fing wot to do da krumpin too!!).
