Ok this has nothing to do with Slannesh! What is the guilty please unit that you run in your army? You know it isn't effective or points efficient but you do it anyways. I've got a couple.

For SpaceMarines:
Venerable Dreadnaught with PlasmaCannon/Misslelauncher.

Eldar:
Asmuren with 10 dire avengers Exarch/Shimmershield on foot.

Orks:
"Da Big Booma!" Battlewagon, Killkannon, Kannon, 3x Bigshootas, ardcase, armourplates, grot riggers.

Eldar: 40 storm guardians [ulthwe fluff nazi]

Tyranids 6 ranvener with devourers and rendering claws, I mean who doesnt love 36 S4 attacks and killer assault.

Rough Riders. Justify it.

Ratlings.

Maxed out unit of Conscripts with 'send in the next wave

36 Termaguants, they are only bad in 2 situations, shooting and melee!

my space marine assault squad... not great in most situations, but damn are they fun.

Fire Warriors

My unit of 6 ork bikers with nob with p-klaw and bosspole.

Its not that they aren't effective. They are. In fact they're very effective and one of my favourite units. My opponents all hate them and every game they achieve something even if that's only drawing fire from my boyz (for some reason that 50% chance cover save and T5 mean they can shrug off ungodly amounts of firepower) or luring an assault unit out into a bad position. When the work they utterly own units with guns and I can use them like a laser guided missle to remove my opponents most important unit in a swift blow.

But I know that objectively they aren't the most pts efficient unit, they have a huge footprint and that I could make a much stronger list without them.

I just love them too much to let them go.

10 Terminators, two cyclone launchers, Lysander attached. It's really expensive, but I greatly enjoy it.

Possessed space marines, they don't play that well but they're cool looking...

Yeah, they are effective in combat, but daaayumn~ they are expensive! (And I run them without bikes btw, imagine if they were nob bikers!)

The other day I played a nid player and he decided to use some spore mines. "For comic relief" They did alright, managed to blow up a battlewagon

IG: Manticores and Executioners - over priced but fun

Tyranids - As Augustus said Termagaunts in apoc games.

Eldar - Any fast attack or elite choice other than 10 man wraithguard and fire dragons.

9x war walkers with scatter laser and 2x autarch

Marines - 5 man lascannon squads, 5 man HB squads

Grey Knights - Grey Knights

Chaos - Fateweaver/Skullbrand

Raptors

Eldar Guardians.

I'd have to say my Eldar Vypers, or My howling Banshees. If I run the Vypers, I equip each of my two with dual shuriken cannons and squadron them. Then if they lose their weapons they become kamikaze planes!!

war walkers and fateweaver are just plain good units and you don't rate harlies, banshees, scorps, spiders or vypers but do rate wraithguard?

5 man Chosen squad, all Plasma (Champ with a PP, 4 Plama Guns)

rangers and pheonix lords for the eldar

i know that there are cheaper options for the two but hell i like the idea of the rangers and the PL's are just too cool not to have

plus they are a tad better than the rest of the army leaders (farseers and warlocks aside)

hey does anyone know if the storm guardians sold on the games workshop site for warhammer 40k miniatures is a metal set or are the miniatures plastic. im more partial to the metal cast figures.

Either C'tan, although I enjoy fielding The Deceiver more than daybringer. The looks on people's faces is worth it alone.

They make Phase Out easier but there's something very... warming... about a model that denies all of your stupidly annoying saves. And T8 with a 4+ invul makes C'tan a very nice fire magnet. Oh, and Misdirect

2 spawn, both heavily converted. (One from the old metal model and one scratch-built)
it may be a waste of 80 pts but they look so good on the table, and they can charge 12!!

As for the original topic:
10 raptors-never liked the loss of hit and run.
Defiler: don't like the loss of Mutated Hull.
Dreadnought: crazy rules got worse, converting to be a Daemon Prince or Bjorn rules.
6 Seekers of Slaanesh (the sleek models), no real use in my chaos army, dont' want to feel like a dick and use 6 termy bases in my 20 man lesser daemons to maximize charge range...
2-3 Lords that I only pull out on friendly/doubles fun tournys.

LOL I do that all the time I love it! Three units of mine and 3 Biovores...so much fun!
