Your imagination

Like a Space Marine Sergent holding off 30 odd gaunts, or a chaplain smashing a blood thirster, or a Wave serpent swooping in and saving your surrounded autarch etc.

An entire SM tactical squad got wiped out by a CC flying Hive tyrant, sergeant managed to survive and ran, but managed to recover. Flying tyrant went after some other stuff while the sergeant ran off in the opposite direction taking shots from the Tyranid player's ally, Eldar. He managed to dodge a fair bit of fire and after a while he came face to face with the Avatar. Instead of running he aimed his Bolt Pistol at the Avatar and fired once, and managed to cause one wound on the Avatar. The nearby Dreadnought and my ally's Commander Crisis suit had been shooting at it for a few turns doing no damage, mostly it had been out of rang of assault and geting into range would have left the Dreadnought in melta range.

Anyway, the sergeant causes one wound on the Avatar with a single Bolt Pistol shot, the Eldar player moves the Guardians away and the Avatar a little bit back (to try to trick the Dreadnought) the sergeant (Who is armed with a Power Fist and a Bolt Pistol) moves forward and is just short of charging, he turns back to go to the nearest building the following turn because Eldar reinforcements had arrived. He makes it to the edge of the building only for the Flying Tyrant to drop from the top of the building and kill him straight off in CC. He has since been promoted to the sergeant of the Sternguard Squad.

Also, while leading that squad he has easily taken out the same Flying Hive Tyrant, in the first game he was used in. The Flying Tyrant came charging towards him and is just short of assault. The following turn that same sergeant (who had not been used for a fair while after that game against the Avatar) and four other Sternguards fire at the Tyrant and kill it, inches from being able to assault the army and the Vindicator (For gaunts and stealers )they were guarding.

Damn. That is one badass lol

Mine would be the first time I played with my Orks. Me vs SM.
SM chapter master was ripping up a decent squad of boyz. Killed them to an Ork, destroyed my last deff coppta and decided to get ballsy and run to my warboss. Warboss charged, saved all wounds from the relic blade, and then killed outright the chapter master in one turn lol. Talk about an EPIC warboss ass kicking

I think the most cinematic moment I can recall is when I was playing my Chaos Space Marines against my friends Blood Angels.

He had Chief Librarian Mephiston attached to a squad of either Death Company or an Assault Squad with jump packs. In the middle of the game, he charged my Thousand Sons Squad that was sitting on my back field objective.

By turn 4 or 5, there was only Mephiston and my Aspiring Sorc fighting each other over the objective, bodies of their former squads all around them. They fought to a standstill until turn 6, where the Sorc managed to kill the Chief Librarian, claiming the objective and winning the game.

I can just imagine both character's force weapons flashing and sparking as they try to keep their footing and not trip over the dead and dying bodies of the Blood Angels and the dust filled armor of the Thousand Son warriors.

My Shas'O w/Airbust, Plasma Rifle, and Missile Pod was charged by 6 to 8 Plaguebearers. They fought each other for 4 rounds of close combat. Every turn I would either inflict a wound or save any wounds inflicted on me. Thank the Earth Caste for Shield Generators!

Ended up my Shas'O killed them all and walked away unscathed.

Guess dynamic entry does help after all
One time in a game of planetstrike my captain lysander and a terminator CC squad was cutting a bloody swathe through orks single handedly killing the warboss. It went on like this until this squad was attacked by two 10 man nob squads, another warboss and two ironclad dreadnoughts. Everybody was killed except for lysander who was reduced to 1 wound but was never killed, despite his attackers. He in turn managed to kill 1 ironclad and 4 nobs before the game ended.

Watching my dads land raider explode and his terminators and librarian being caught in the sweeping advance of a 100pt Greater daemon, aptly named "fatso"

When you call an intimate moment with your partner "the Assault Phase"

Is that followed by a pile-in move?

That brings a whole new meaning to the term "Hit and Run"

Can that be following a deep strike, or do you have to wait until the next round?

Australia (Recently ravaged by the Hive Fleet Ginger Overlord)

There's something awfully stirring about a 50 man combined squad of Guardsmen marching across no-mans land. While this often ends with them being ripped to shreds, there are occasionally stirring images of ordinary men conquering impossible odds. The best moments in battle are when the average man rises up and does what most would think impossible.

1) APOC: My 50man squad with a commissar came in from reserve and charged into a huge mob of boyz that were finishing off some SM squads. While we win the first combat, we are slowly wittle down over a series of turns, the dozens of men and xenos lost in the carnage. All that stands left at the end of turn 5 is the commissar, the sergeant, and a vox caster against some 20+ orks or so crowded around them. They fail their leadership test, the commissar shoots the sergeant for cowardice and afterwards does "Fire on my Co-ordinates!". Apart from a lone boy on the edge of the fight, they are all cuaght in the blast and promptly obliterated. I just get the picture of the commisar fending off a horde of orks while the vox-caster frantically sends the blast co-ordinates.

2) The remnants of a combined 20 man squad (including commissar) is charged and promptly torn apart by Kharn the Betrayer. The only survivor, a lone sergeant, staggers to his feet. Armed only with a humble laspistol and chainsword, he runs at the bloodthirsty warrior before him and rams the chainsword down his throat.

3) At the end of a surprisingly swift victory against the eldar, my opponent has Eldrad flee from the ruined building in an attempt to escape from my inquisitor and the sisters of battle. He staggers outside, resting his hand against the wall only to find himself looking down the barrel of 20 lasguns. The nearby platoon commander ordered the front rank to thier knees, and ordered "First rank FIRE! Second rank FIRE!". At the moment of this execution, somewhere a certain tactical genius grinned.

"Just as planned."

Best moment I had was a Predator Tank Shocking my unit of Grey Knight Terminators.

Despite the fact they were modelled correctly, he forgot they had Thunder Hammers and Storm Shields.

I decide to have a Death or Glory stand.

One shot to the front of the Predator, Immobilized!

I can just imagine what that would have looked like in a movie.

I've had a few

1: My friend's 5 man Guardsman Squad taking out about 30 gaunts in a sweeping advance.

2: My Leman Russ Executioner was charged by the Nightbringer, who epically failed his rolls and got run over by it.

3: My GK Grand Master being charged by a Deff Dread and about 25 orks. He got S10 using Hammerhand and destroyed the Deff Dread, which exploded killing every single one of the orks around him!

Having my Librarian take 50 necrons shooting him in rapid fire range before dying, almost saved him as well!

Unhealthy Competition With Other Legions

The lone Stormtrooper sgt who has become a legend among our group, who has never died, his squad has never lived and he has done something awsome every single game, like killing 3 terminators with 3 attacks, or taking on a squad of ass marines and winning or taking out a land raider with a "death or glory" meltabomb down the throat.

In the last game, he charged lysander and one terminator, maneged to kill the termie but when his squad died and he broke. the turn after next he turned around and as an afterthougt, (lysander was the last model on the board) pegged him with a lone hell-pistol shot and managed to do what the entire rest of my army failed to do in an entire round of shooting. Kill lysander.

Probably the only one I can remember is a game of 3rd Ed where a Carnifex had killed off everybody in my command squad but the techmarine. The Techmarine's last attack was his extra servo-arm attack which ends up killing the Fex.

I pictured the Techmarine getting peeved because he would have to clean the xenos guts off of his weaponry.
