I'm planning on starting up a new Fantasy army, my first in 4 years. But I used to play Tomb Kings but have subsuqently sold them off. Now I'm wondering what I should pick up reguarding Wood Elves. Would the Battalion or Army Box be worth the money or should I just start with the tacking together of independent boxes.

Any help is good help... appreciate it guys.

I currently play TK and love them, WHY did you give up on them! =(

Anyway, I am playing with TK in the semi finals for the 'ard boys and hope to take them to the finals and if I win the semis, I plan on asking for a wood elf army so I wonder if there is something about going from TK to WE? They seem really fun =).

In regards to WE, it depends on how you want to build your army, the battalion is always a good buy for WE as it comes with enough to start a decent army.

You will most likely use at least 20 glade guard archers, 12 dryads and at least 5 glade riders. You can convert the 4 (above the 20 archers) into characters and you have an army right there, just need some special/rare choices and you are set.

Wardancers are always solid, a treeman can be helpful, eagles are great and wild riders are pretty standard.

Hey thanks for the tips but looking at that batallion I think I'm just gonna get the book and some glade guard first and build from there.

Also on a side note. I loved my tomb kings but I moved into an area where they only played 40k exclusively, and got a really great offer on them so I really couldnt pass it up.

Battalion gives you 24 Glade Guard, 8 Riders and 12 Dryads.

Combine with 1 GG box and 1 Dryad box you have:

Up to 40 Glade Guard (and can have some scouts), making up to 4 units of 10.

24 Dryads fit perfectly into 3 units of 8

Make a unit of 5 or 6 Glade Riders with a musician, and leave the other two to convert to Wild Riders or for bits.

This gives you a good solid core, after which you can pick up special/rare and characters on top of it.
