Aren't Gods usually entities of the warp at any rate? I think it's a matter of power/worship that gets you called a god more than anything.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it. |

Well they did take physical form among the Eldar. They taught them, till Khaine went nuts with the eldar because Isha dreamt that the eldar would cause his downfall. He owned alot of Eldar, and would've wiped them out if Asuryan hadn't built a barrier between the 2 worlds. Anyway, slannesh was born and owned all of them apart from Cegorach. He cast down Khaine and smashed him into a cadzookillion pieces (these became his avatars). I assume that they must've been in the warp for slannesh to own them. Hope that helped

Its hard to say, really. I think Eldar legend says that the eldar were born of Kurnous and Isha, (the latter of which, by the way, was not killed by Slaanesh, rather taken prisoner by Nurgle."
In other books I have read that the Eldar were created by "The Old Ones" along with orks, or rather, proto-orks, to fight the Ctan and the Necrontyr. They specifically designed the Eldar and Orks to have a heavy presence in the warp so that they could use devastating psychic powers, which gave them an edge over the Ctan and Necrons. This ultimately was their downfall though, as the massive psychic presence stirred the warp and daemons flooded into the galaxy. No doubt this heavy psychic presence also allowed the eldar to unwittingly produce Slaanesh, who would flatten their civilization, kill the vast majority of their population, and utterly destroy all but three of their gods (Isha, Khaine, and the laughing god of the harlequins, Cegorach.)
In fact, in retrospect, there are a few races that I know of that share the pantheon with the eldar, but obviously call them by different names. For example, the Hrud have a pantheon of gods that include a horned hunter, red handed figure, laughing jester, and a hammer-wielding artisan. These correspond to the eldar deities Kurnous, Khaine, Cegorach, and Vaul.
Im beginning to think that the "Old Ones", "Brain Boyz", "Most Ancients", etc, are actually the Pantheon, and that they collectively created the races of the 40k galaxy.

All this 'Nurgle has Isha captured' thing is one story on a minor craftworld and not shared.
Also, I think it's allegorical. Nurgle is the patron of despair. Isha represents life/birth for the Eldar.
Isha being trapped by Nurgle is allegorical to the predicament of the state of the Eldar race.
Also, as for them being around, Khaine (or at least what's left of him) still hangs out with them.

The Eldar gods did exist at one point and some still exist now. However if they are 'gods' or just warp creatures that take up many names that still is a question.

It seems to me that they were indeed real, but as to whether they were warp-entities or "Old ones" I don't know.
Of courrse there is also the idea that the Laughing god is in fact the Deciever and my friend always likes to insinuate that Khaine was an aspect or demon of Khorne. Bloody handed god and all that...
So if that were the case than both of those gods would be "real".

Khaine became bloody handed when he killed Eldannesh (I think that's what he was called). And it says that Nurgle has Isha in the Chaos Daemons codex...therefore it MUST be real...just like the Star child, squats...
