Has anyone seen progress sculpts for the new Erainn infantry- Men of Dún Geanainn, Sleanagh Unit? They are supposed to come out next month, just wondering if I missed an update.

No, not that I've noticed and looks like there really hasn't been any news for several months on how things are going. I like the Erainn and am interested in the set but with how long some things have drawn out I really can't remember if they've ever been shown.

I did finally bite on the 2 for 1 as I wasn't sure I needed anything but I've managed to paint up several larger Mierce things in the past few weeks for an RPG game and needed that giant naked mole rat. So I picked it and the Grundtroll up. Shipping has really jumped too. $24 for tracked, $16 for non-tracked. But that's what you get when international mail to your country stops getting subsidized. Still be a while till I'm use to paying the actual cost.

But...

Spoiler:

Quoting an old post as I noticed last week that KSer stuff that's shown in the store now all have expected release dates. Mallox are January of 2022.

There's some things missing, Schyros for example, in their store but I think that's because the giant turtle is expected to release in the next month or two. The schedule from last summer has it as a Feb 2021 release but I think Mierce is a bit behind on that list as the current sale is the new Infernii which was originally december.

Well, this is just a vast understatement...
I received Uuroch last month.
I ordered him 2016...so 4 years for fulfilment.
My last 2 backorders are Scethæn, and Schyrós, original shipping date June 2017.
That Feb 21 date is not just late, but about the 6th time it has been pushed back!

I know they're behind, I've been in this thread since the start so no sudden realization there from me, but I was stating in regards to the updated release schedule they gave 6-7 months ago. Though, looking at that list (as I'm bored and don't want to sleep) they managed to get June, July, August, October and December out (or at least placed on official coming next month pre-order and I assume actually shipping) as September, November and January's releases have been rescheduled to various times in 2021.

I do find it odd that Schyros is no where to be found in the store when everything else is. Maybe Rob just forgot to add the giant turtle when he got rid of the kickstarter categories last year? The new Gorgorar that were supposed to be out with it are listed as May 2021 now. It will be interesting to see how many of those dates stick as Mierce haven't been good at hitting dates for several years (thus I only order when they're ready to ship) but it does seam they tried the last 6 months with a global pandemic to boot.

I just know I want the turtle and I finally got around to building my Blood-maw I got in the very first KSer (7-8 years ago) and noticed it was missing a row of teeth which I must have overlooked. Don't want to pay full shipping for a $7 replacement part (not going to ask for a free replacement this many years later--that's on me for not noticing the first few times I thought about building it and maybe I lost it during one of those) and and trying to guess how long of a wait it will be till there's something I want up for sale I can add them too.

Good news. According to this news post from a week ago I found they're the February release https://mierce-miniatures.com/index.php?act=new&ref=331 so I would assume they're on track still.

It's a pretty rocking turtle. Some of bob's best on the "giant creature" front. I'm kind of concerned that it's not listed as if there's something about it that wasn't working in molding and they're reworking it.

It's marked as "No Longer Available" when I view the page.

Also, has anyone else noticed they switched to oval bases now for lots of things?

That's an old page , this is the one for it now

https://mierce-miniatures.com/index.php?act=pro&pre=mrm_dkl_kth_khe_mbs_101_000

pre-order, scheduled for production in may 2021 (rrp for this one is £90 rather than £100, wonder it it's ended up shrinking slightly?, it's clearly still massive whether or not that's the reason as it comes with a 120mm base)

That one does let me order it. I'm guessing I cannot see it in the main list as I didn't back that kickstarter I think.

May 2021?

I hope so!

My top of list Mallax are now apparently slated for...January 2022!

Looks like Dec 2021 for my Crushers

But speaking of buying Mierce stuff, half-priced monstrous infantry is happening: https://mierce-miniatures.com/index.php?act=cat&cre=off-hpm (limited to 5 of each, with a select few sets / single dudes down to 1* already!)

And now I own 3 Walrus men.

Have absolutely no use for them, but at that price I couldn't pass up sculpts I've liked for ages.

I, too, am super tempted by the 3-Walrus Deal!

I was thinking about them for Kings of War to represent snow trolls, but I think they'd be way too big.

I've seen them used for a water elementals horde, snow troll horde would be fine and very swank - particularly as snow trolls are on 50mm bases IIRC. You could have some height concerns depending on how tall your monsters are, buuuuut that's a problem that's easily solved ... with bigger monsters

Sorry if the thread is the wrong on, but I was entirely unable to find any alive discussion about darklands elsewhere...

While mierce seems to still be producing models, is the ruleset going anywhere?

Last updates on the PDF files provided via the homepage of mierce date back to 2018.

I did read somwhere about a rulebook 2.0 beeing planned.

But finding players, or anything really, is like hunting the yeti it seems.

So is the rules system still developed and supported?
Or is it basicaly an "as it is" system with no further work put into it?

Personally, I've checked out the Darklands rules a couple times and found them incredibly dense. Like, I've played many mini games with a pretty wide range of rules, but Darklands 1.0 (or at least the rulebook) was a lot to sift through

Ah thank you for the info,
Yep the mierce forum seems kinda dead too, I registered but waiting for the amin to activate my account.

The rules are exactly what got me interested, I am looking for new systems to try out and Darklands seemed like a very nice pick for a really deep system, beside the interesting background and the modells.
But it will be rather hard to convince people of a system which is more or less not touched since 2018 rules wise.

Anyway, thanks for the answer

Yeah I've been playing minis games since the 80s and... gave up on the Darklands rules too. I love the minis and the setting so if they could bring in someone to streamline the rules but keep the depth, I'd very much be in.

Same here.

I actually still think, at heart, Darklands has a lot of potential, but the rulebook actually obfuscates rather than illustrates that.

There's an A5 "quick start" version, but frankly I'd already exhausted myself doing battle with the full size version before I got a copy and never really dig into it.

If there's a 2nd edition with a better edited, more clearly laid out book I'll still be interested in having another look.

I believe that Tim stated he wanted to do a couple versions for 2nd Edition: A more streamlined system and a quick start. But it will probably be a while.

Fortunately, my friends and I enjoy the recordkeeping and detail of the game...does not hurt that we are also Star Fleet Battles players.

Mierce MiniaturesCreator

That's yer lot for today...

Let's give you a few snippets though. In terms of production, the new Annik and Hedroc and Hound-Aberrants are actually in production right now. I'm getting them painted and then (hopefully) later on this month we'll be unveiling the promotion for them. There won't be much that's new - two new Hound-Aberrants, basically - but the promotion will give everybody the opportunity to get their hands on them all.

The Walvax Netters (late this month) and Shieldwall Fiends (April) are on schedule but they may be pushed back, we'll see. Beliayal is on course for May.

After that (at least for digital sculpts), in May, it'll be the new Leofwen and Rowena, alongside which will be Beornhelm the Sleanbera Thegn and a full unit of seven (count 'em) Sleanbera - you have three already of course. Banner Bearer and Herald + alts.

After that, in June, it'll be the Cocwocor, Cocneidr and a new monster for the Powys Brythoniaid, the Afanc. Traditionally there'll be the Ograx Reivers and Reivers. Hopefully Murcunn this month too - we'll see.

In July you'll have the new Eormanræd, Scethæn and the new mound beetles and hopefully the Byzantii - the new Auxilia, Sagittarii and Quintus / Gaius. Rumours of a new Equitus and Legionaries and Velchior are entirely true, although all of this lot in one month is a tough ask. We'll see.

August brings Schyrós, the reworked Gorgórar/Gorgóraxo, Medusel and Klóstiss, along with a new Thelliatiss in a few different weapon variations.

September is the Warriors of Baalor and a new Mananaan.

October will be Alix, Kerazek, Marzaon and the Ax-Margh-Drunes - and some new Ax-Drunes...

November is Anglecynn month with the new Duguth and the Duguth Eored, and we'll have a new Eadric and Timoth and Cynemon too.

December will hopefully be Wihts month!

So we're getting there. If you didn't know already, what I'm trying to do is get ahead of schedule: get production working first before I start a promotion and new stuff to go alongside kickstarter stuff, and get our presentation better at the same time. That means painted miniatures.

Hopefully 2021 will be a cool year for all you Miercenaries!

Now Eormanræd - that beautiful sculpt produced by Jacques-Alexandre Gillois - has been around for a fair while now, and when we created the artwork for Eormanræd on Horse JAG was still around and accepting commissions. Sadly, that is no longer the case, so we decided to get our very own Bob Płociennik to sculpt him.

Well now... Yannick Fusier, he of all things Ogrish, is sculpting the Oghureach, those ogre-centaurs we've all been looking forward to - and he's begun with Murcunn the warchief. We think you'll agree that this early work is particularly awesome!

As is our wont with these new mounted fellas and fellasses, we resculpt the foot version at the same time to make them look... well, coherent, if not super-bloody-awesome. Check out Rafael Dioli's work on Rudraige the Fat (pronounced Rory the Fat, dontchaknow) the warlord of the Uí Néill - starting with the Shieldwall foot version...

Yes indeedy, we have three mighty mound beetles on 80mm bases ahead of us, all awesomely digitally sculpted by Bob Płociennik; one will replace the original Thacaldān, which we're sad about because it's a cracking sculpt, but having two others of a different style would look odd. So Bob's done a unit of three!
