So you're saying there's still a chance for the trolls to come out first

What about a Deathfields-specific casualty box?

I know it's a little wish-listy, but hear me out;

Make it 8 models on the full sprue, 2 Raumjaeger, 2 Cannonfodder, 2 Einherjar, and 2 Grognards. One face up and one face down for each the four factions. Make the heads separate so you can opt to also use heads from the regular squad's boxes for further variety (or match your army's specific livery).

It'll give you casualties specific to your faction, but since Deathfields all takes place on the same battlefield, there may be leftovers from previous fights that aren't your faction.

Immah be honest I will never buy a box of 30 casualties.

I don't think anyone is planning on making or wanting that.

Honestly do it like Perry, have the Command Sprue have a body on it. I believe the Perry AWI British gave you two. I rather liked that, one up and another facing down.

re: casualties,
It's one of my favorite things about the latter-release LOTR/Hobbit sprues - plastic orc, Easterling, hunter orc, Rivendell elf casualties, etc, plus certain Perry Napoleonic kits have casualties included. I even bought the finecast LOTR casualties and have collected extra 'tactical rock' casualties from various models in order to cast resin copies at home. Scatter terrain more than anything else is what sells a battlefield, so having some casualties really spices it up. I'm all for it. A crumpled body in the corner of the sprue is always useful imho.

I just finished a proper Einherjar for playtesting a game, so I figured here was as good as any place to show him off:

Matthew Leahy has sent in a work in progress shot of the Goths. The first two are styled after Peter Dennis’ illustration. This will be a 30 figure set with full command and many weapon options and will be quickly followed by a 60 figure Army Builder. Both will be out later this year.

Here is some preliminary work on a Napoleonic Russian in greatcoat for an Army Builder set. Let us know how we're doing with the design and we'll refine it. There will be two types of hat options, backpack, and sword hanger included.

Shiny, I like the goths. Putting together the cavalry force of a goth army together and can't wait to get my grubby paws on those footsloggers.

I’d have to see what other interesting helmets and weapons come with the Goths, or if any are armored. So far they’re just too similar to the DA Irish, GB Saxon Thegns and Fireforge foot sergeants for me to buy a box any time soon for converting into fantasy.

I am curious about that too. Accessories that make them more iconic help improve the kitbashing potential. The Wolf Hounds for example are a great addition to the Irish box set.

I feel like the Goths really need a bunch more ankhs, and maybe some fishnet sleeves, to ensure we can do the Late Gothic 1980s look too

(I feel like I have made so many bad jokes on this thread that I really ought to place a WGA order soon just to make up for them.)

They will be the first release done in vantablack plastic, so that's nice.

Later then it's the cybergoths for the death fields range.

I just got WGA lizardmen yesterday and already I'm very impressed:

Very nice kits and I'm very glad they didn't have integral bases.

Those shields look nice on the lizards. I guess several parts of the upcoming Aztecs will fit these nice.

As for the Goths, I hope there will be several Spangenhelms on the sprue. GB went with rather untypical helmets in their dark age kits for some reason.

After the Cannon Fodder are out this summer, our next faction for Death Fields will be the Space Brits (working on a final name for them). Here's a work-in-progress shot of what we've done so far. There will be four bodies per sprue with enough standard rifles for all.
Do you like the idea of shoulder pads or separate epaulettes for them? Would you like backpacks for all or leave them off? Let us know your advice!

This might be my favorite WGA kit and I'm not even into that Praetorian/Zulu/Ork thing.

I'd like backpacks, more shotguns, a more obvious plasma gun, can drop the extra flamers and flying rocket.

So now we can add Praetorian Guard to the list, alongside Vostrayan Firstborn and Steel Legion. Brilliant

Look fine to me, a Lewis Gun, Enfield, a shotgun, a Piat, and as well backpack style flame. Only thing I say they should do is kick the other two flames, give us a cool plasma gun or something else.
