Has anyone had any luck with Chaos Ogres, or Chaos Trolls in the past?

I have a feeling that most people feel that these units are a lessor choice compared to Chaos Knights. I am looking to add some flavor to my Chaos army, and I was curious what people's experiences are with these units.

Trolls are unfortunately not a good choice due to stupidity and lack of option for marks. You'd probably do better with ogres as they can have mark of slaneesh/khorne to help with psychology and they also have good options for equipment. Other decent option would be a unit of dragon ogres with great weapons. In any case I'd probably use ogres(both kind) as a small high strength support unit. 3 dragon ogres with great weapons or 3 khorne chaos ogres with chaos armor and great weapons would be both pretty neat in this role (and not _too_ expensive).

I have a converted unit of dragon ogres with 2x hand weapons that I love. Pretty darn tough. Having 4 wounds surprises most opponents, and they have the same Ld as chaos warriors with the Will of Chaos rule, so they don't NEED a general nearby to help much. Plus they're FAST, as fast as chaos knights. Very nice to put down the flank of the army. As for whether to use 2x hw or greatweapons, YMMV. I like the 2x weapons because I face a lot of T3 armies, but a lot of S7 attacks can't be laughed at. I'm debating making another unit with greatweapons just for the option. Smashing chariots instantly and making a mockery of the toughest infantry all sound like good things.

Chaos trolls I love as well. I have a unit of them too. The trick is keeping them near the general. This is MANDATORY. A lot of times they'll charge forward and after chasing down the enemy, be out of leadership range. Doesn't sound TOO bad at first, but when the enemy countercharges and wins by 1, you realize it's really hard to pass that Ld 3. There's a troll hero though that isn't too bad - might consider converting one of him if you want to use trolls. He helps with leadership and is pretty nasty himself.
