Hi all. This is just a little blog to show some of the things I have been working on for the =][=munda campaign I have started with some friends. Mostly it will be a lot of pictures of random miniatures I bought at some point and only just now have found a purpose for. I will be posting models as I make them and my players recruit them mostly.
The campaign is 5 players controlling characters in an inquisitorial retinue, with me running plot and playing the mutants, traitors and heretics attempting to do naughty things. The traitors are being played by my newly renamed Lost and the Orky, so I will periodically put up cross posts with that blog. There might not be much in the way of WIP shots since I forgot to take many, and a lot of this is going to be rebasing and retouching current models in use.

First up, the medicae, Sanctioned Psyker Koenig, and the death cultist:


These three have been in use for a bit, and mostly just got new bases, though I will be touching them up here and there, especially where replacing the base = breaking off paint.

In the realm of new models, we have here Armstrong the smashy melee Juve, "Lucky" the plasma pistol wielding juve, and Kaylie the mechanic:



Lucky and Kaylie have the only real WIP shots as I kind of neglected to take shots of the rest.


Here we have Guardsmen Dave and Steve of the Sanctus Fornax Planetary Defense Force.

Kaylie the mechanic is cool but she does not appear to be a member of the the Cult Mechanicus and therefore is a heretic or heretek if you prefer.

Thanks guys Glad you all like them; my players are mini-noobs, so they turned down all my offers to convert up new models in favor of what I had. A good excuse to base up some older models I haven't yet, but not much that is new and super exciting yet.

Plus... jeebus, so many zombies!

Shaman: Yup, it is a minor conversion. A warmachine Cryx unit of some sort, with his diver helmet looking thing cut off and replaced with a Reaper head.

We have a game tomorrow, so action shots are coming up!

Wouldn't be calling the psyker king sorta make him wanted as a heretic.

Well, we had another little game today. Our impetuous Inquisitor and company got themselves ambushed by traitorous guardsmen en route to an underhive town from which there had not been communications. Hopefully that will teach them the importance of scouting ahead!

Sadly, true to form I neglected to take pictures until about three turns into it, after about 30% of the heretics had been mowed down. (My wife is a mean hand with a heavy stubber.) So I just posted the most interesting pics. Hope you enjoy!

Over all it was a rather crushing victory for the Inquisitor and company, smashing all resistance while taking only a handful of wounds. That psyker trick of creating an 18" impassible wall is remarkably strong... gotta plan around that next time.

Some nice stuff going on, one quick question...the Kaylie mini, what manufacturer is it?

Thanks there Jack! She is from Reaper in their Chronoscape line. One big bonus of this project/campaign for me has been having a reason to use all the random mini's I compulsively collected over the years. Nothing like a little self justification to fuel a project!

Speaking of which, what is the proper base size for a daemonic herald on a steed? I am making a marilynth that I want to have count as a Slaanesh herald on a daemonic steed, so does that go on a bike base? Cavalry? 40mm terminator? 60mm dread? Any ideas?

Ok, short update. After getting mowed down every game by my lovely wife's heavy stubber bot, I decided it was time to get some heavy weapons love for the evil team, if just to keep heads down before a power sword finds its way between his ribs.



Otherwise, all my =][=munda painting has been around getting the Traitors finished up. I might post up a big group hug shot of them shortly.

I like the narrative ideas you have running here and the painting is top-notch too.

I love using alternate models for GW games. GW never seems to bother making models for some of their great ideas, like Inquisitors and other sorta combatants. Granted, this is for obvious reasons, but I would like for them to do a Chronoscape type line where it is just "Nifty stuff" like civies, Inquisitor characters and maybe necromunda type gangers.

I will also try and get a better picture of that man... I didn't realize how blurry it was till just now.

Quasi-related, I had mentioned the trenchcoat dudes from Heresy to you, which are midway down this page.

And somewhat less related, I was doing some serious thinking about following in your footsteps with 2W 'fakking uber' chaos terminators and their rabble friends. The 1500 point list I put together is mega-boring, but it would give me an excuse to make yet another army from the book Daemon World - baby blue Violators terminators, slaaneshi zealots and close combat dreads that don't flip out

Digging your 1500 idea on the termies. I agree that X termies with 4X shootas is a tad dull... perhaps you could mix them up a tad with sluggas, or pull some MANZ for nobs in heavy armor.
I am definitely feeling though that orks are the new Chaos. Nearly all the same options for essentially the same models, with cultists and the like thrown in. With how they stripped all the mutations and such out of the CSM 'dex, you can get damn near the same army out of orks with more options. Which is really wierd...
