Hi just thought i would share my army with you all
i have 8000+ point IG army heres a ruff break down

DKOK
8 squads infantry,
3 squads of grenadiers ,
1 company command with commissar, and quartermaster,
2 platoon command squads,
3 centaurs,
5 death riders ( i want more ) ,
8 heavy wepons,
3 heavy mortars,
3 heavy quad launchers,
1 malciador
(and some more odds and ends)

Cadians
1 co. command with comissar, officer of the fleet, master of ordnance,
2 platoon commands,

6 heavys,
1 storm trooper squad,

This does seem fairly harsh, yet I can't help but agree. I'm really sick of posts about some stuff someone has which we may or may not see at some point in the future. Seriously, what is the point of these posts?

As for the debate about how much plastics should really cost, I don't know enough about that to have anything useful to add.

Youd be surprised how many people just write BS ( and no I dont mean ballistic skill) and never back it up, so pics (even horrible ones) are kind of expected.

a) a question or discussion about/of a particular painting or modeling technique
or
b) pictures of your work.

Often both.

If you just want to post a list of your models, and maybe discuss the army, that's perhaps a better topic for the General 40k Discussions forum.

Well aside from most of you being A**s i all i can say is sorry the pics of my army have been erased i didn't know and from the description i had given you know its no small task to set up and take pics which i plan to do but you see I'm in the US Army and we had an nut job shoot up Fort Hood a big deal for us and because of this i haven't had time to get the pics retaken sorry i had to make you Waite man I'm just a bastard.

So, where did you get the idea that this belongs in the painting and modelling forum then? You didn't talk about painting or modelling. You didn't post any pictures of your painting or modelling. You didn't give any indication that you were going to post pictures or ask questions related to painting or modelling. You just posted a random assortment of imperial guardsmen. I could do the same thing to. That still doesn't warrant a topic being created in the painting and modelling forum.

I don't care if you're in the army and don't have time to set up your miniatures for pictures. I'm at University, and don't have access to the tools to make decent pictures of my minis, but you don't see me making topics about random minis I have without any real point.

No one ever accused you of being a bad person, idiot, or donkey-cave. We simply stated the obvious. If you must take comments like these so seriously, please, get the feth off my internet before you become the next 'Myspace suicide.'

Well i just cant win, oh well lets get back on a more productive topic. I have not painted my Cadian army as of yet i just cant decide on how to paint them i dint want to go with the traditional paint scheme, i have gone with classic military look for my DKOK catachan green overcoats dry brushed with camo green, pants are the same with codex grey dry brush. i had thought about doing the same for my Cadians but I'm just not shore if i want to go that rout so i was thinking of getting the thoughts of the community just not the thoughts of Fafnir i have herd enough of his thoughts as true as some my had been there are better ways of saying it instead of just having no manners.

Now, if you had put that original statement in your original post, the responses you would recieve would be much warmer.

I was simply being truthful. You were bragging about your collection, and you did make an off topic post (and for the record, anything made by GW is cheap, overpriced plastic... except for the metals. That's cheap, overpriced metal).

Your patronizing and condescending response was not warranted, and was met with justifiable criticism. The private message you sent me was pointless spam. If you want to insult me, at least do it properly.

That said, now that you have finally posted something pretaining to the proper subject matter, I feel I should at least offer my advice.
Catachan green will work for the carapace/coats, but avoid using the green/grey combination for the pants. I suggest using either khaki, dark grey, or a different shade of green, so as to show the difference between the different materials, and bring out more detail.

I am sure it was just an accident, and hell I have done something like this before. Both of you are right here. He didn't deserve that response, but then on the other side even if you are new it clearly says what each topic is about so please don't spam up the forums.

To be on topic I agree with Fafnir on the painting.

Fafnir - I dont know what he said in your messages, but in his defense you DID come off as being a total jerk. And hes OBVIOUSLY new, and like most new people, isnt familiar with how everything works. I think you need to chill a bit.

At one point i had seen a maroon uniform scheme but I'm not shore i really like the idea, I still want That tradianal military look, Fafnir what color green did you have in mined, can you elaborate, i want some thing that looks good, not cartoony, i just keep coming up blank.
and to answer a question asked earlier i use the army all 3 ways depending on the type of game we are playing , and about the cheap overpriced plastic, FW is worse lol

Also when people post that they have SO many models, its hard for us to buy it unless some kind of proof is brought forth. Just so you know.

Internets insulting happens, IMHO, just ignore it and keep making your point. I have literally won arguments where I have said not a cuss word but instead, brought up random topics till they eventually stopped. It really works !

I have to say that you have DAMN big army. I LOVE DKoK and you seem to have a pretty cool color scheme so that will be cool to see.

If you want a traditional cadian scheme it's... Bland. I would go with maybe a nice desert scheme or even maybe ice world. Anything really works.

Go for a lighter green for the underarmour/pants. Although green and green just doesn't tend to look that good. Hell, any colour on another shade of the same rarely looks good. You either want it light enough to look contrasting, or dark enough to do that.

It defies the military ideal of camoflauge, but in terms of getting it to actually look good, it's a completely different game. In the world of 40k, it's only pretend camoflauge, remember.

I will try to add more. if you look at the back of the army you can see 3 russes I'm still putting together, I'm debateing on how to convert them to Vanquishers. And i have the rest of the heavy wepon teams to finish. sorry the pics are not great crappy camra (great army)

Damn that is pretty big. It is hard to say how well they all look but I understand, so until I see some up close pictures, I will reserve my judgement.

From what I understand this is about the average-sized IG army, right? You don't really start collecting until you have over 12,000 points in tanks alone.

Sad part is its not every thing I have thers more that just needs putting to gether. And I still want a storm lord or two. and more troops both DKOK and Cadians. i havent painted my Cadians as of im still not shore what colors, and i still want to do some converting mostly on my armor
