Or eat the wires in your cars engine costing you hundreds of dollars in damage. I hate squirrels, tree or ground variety I cheer every time I see a squished squirrel on the side of the road. the only reason I'd brake for squirrels would be so I could back up over them .

I had one get into my attic by chewing through an eave by a gutter. Then it chewed through the phone wires up there, Won't discuss its end. So, now we have a Jack Russell Terrier. Keeps the little buggers on their toes. Great Dogs.

Around here there are loads of nuts up and in skirts....

Nuts up skirts? Is that a kilt reference?

Yup. Very aggressive. I heard a theory once that living and evolving in our urban areas were actually making the squirrels, and raccoons too, more intelligent

Oh, and if you happen to glue a flattened squirrel to the tracks when you put the tracks on, well, it wouldn't suck.

I think the last time I saw a red squirrel it was in a zoo... in Poland.
Although there's now news of a black squirrel that's out-competing the grey... Not that that is good news, but news none-the-less.

Absolutely.
I've said before, I could make the stock model in a couple of days. But where's the fun in that.
Glad you enjoy the journey.

Yes, that's the usual way of representing it when you can't do superscript.
Although I would have written that as 1x10^7.

Theophony wrote:On other forums where we math challenged individuals won't punch you
Maths is the language of Science. So it is welcome here.

Yep, he is the patient type.

I'm not worried about getting it done by page 1x10^2. Was just thinking aloud and wondering what I would have to show on page 100, as the army hasn't really grown much since the page 50 army shot. We will see.

Besides we need to see what sort of mad scientist bathroom inventions you will come up with.

Aha. Figured it out, use the {sup> before the exponential, and then put {/sup> after it. Only change the "{" to a "<"

and for this notation, H2O, just change sup to sub.

Perhaps post a family photo on p.100?

Hey, I've been busy making sinks.

But, Dozer blade number 1 has begun:

I show the cut-out of the plastic as it demonstrated the various curves that the blade has (that aren't so apparent when you see the pieces).

I tried a couple of ways to get a nice curve to the pieces, but in the end I decided that as I was going to fit a frame to the rear of the plates, I may as well use them to form the curve...

So, I cut out a load of curved pieces (of the thicker plastic I have) and used sprue to space them out. Once that glue has fully set (read, tomorrow) I will heat the plates and glue them to the frame to hold their shape. Then there will probably be much sanding.

There you have it, work has begun.

That's all right Vik. You can't help not being English.

inmygravenimage wrote:Agreed, systematic brilliance at work!

Thanks chaps. The ribs were made by using a paint-pot lid to get the right (as determined by eye) curve and then hand drawing the back curve.
I made two like this, cut out and then shaved and sanded together to get about the same shape.
I then used them as templates for the rest.

My finger is still sore from all the scoring...

Yep. Well I needed something to use as a template for an even curve. The paint pot was slightly too big, but the lid was good. Anything round would work, so long as it has the right radius.

cormadepanda wrote:Really great work. I bet you wont finish by page 100.
Thanks Comrade. We will see. Not much left to do (depending on how the dozer blades turn out).

Talking of dozer blades, I've done the bending and gluing.

Not far from perfect.
Needs a bit of filling here and there, a bit of trimming, more additions and build the frame to hold it to the tank... Then do it all again (and hopefully better) for the second blade. Might change my scalpel blades before that as it was hard work cutting out those ribs (my finger still hasn't forgiven me).

well, well, I bet the queeny is bemused a little^^

the blade looks very good... but are both equally shaped or is the mock up for the pic just a bit sloppy?...

I think it is the current colour but I get a very strong batman vibe now

God bless Her little cotton socks.

Ta. They are reasonably close in shape. But do need some trimming and sanding to tidy them up. They are also stood on an uneven surface.

I needed to get them to this stage before I started to trim and shape them properly as I wasn't entirely sure what curve I would end up with and what exact angle they will meet at. The curve at the meeting point in particular, needs careful bending and sanding to get an even shape.

Hopefully it's not too batty when I've finished. I am currently thinking of a nice polished metal look to the dozer.
