Decided im starting a new army (once again) and wanted to leave skaven for a while.
Decided on going back to lizardmen simply because i loev the style of the models, and i like a pure skink force

However, i generally prefer to order from maelstrom, yet after looking around ive found a few weird prices.

For example: Special characters like lord kroak are 15% more expensive (im guessing due to limited run) but after a few more checks, krox, terradons and alot of other units are more expensive than GW.

even azhag for O&G is just under £60 lol.


Anyone know why the prices of certain models are higher than GW?

Even though I am in the U.S. and I would not get much of a deal from them, I never thought they were that great really. Not a particularly large amount of savings, just a lot of hype (mainly from H.M.B.C.).

I did see a few things that were decently priced, but including the shipping, and the price of other models; you may as well look around some more. This is not telling you to buy direct from GW, dear lord, don't do that .

Oh, and you probably want this moved to discussions or something... so H.M.B.C. can attempt to convince you that it is in fact a great deal (not a good deal, or a decent deal)... yeah...

Thats the thing mate, shipping is free and very quick, which is why i use them.
The average 12.5% off is an added bonus to me.

It looks like most things are about 12% cheaper, which is a decent deal, especially with free shipping (which I would confirm twice in any order).

I found a store that was doing 20% off, and I got a bunch of stuff from them. The problem was that their service was absolutely terrible. They tried to sneak in charges, and then I had to wait a ridiculously long time to get my stuff. All in all, it totally was not worth it.

Not sure how maelstroms service is though, they might be a lot better. You should P.M. H.M.B.C, he should get back to you quickly. Also remember to get this thread moved to an appropriate forum.

I use maelstrom. They are fast, free delivery and I've never bought anything from them anywhere near GW prices. Didn't know some things were more expensive though. I will investigate...

Take a look at mainly the fantasy range.
Alot of models tend to be more expensive.

Like the kroxigors that are over £13 each lol.

You could ring up Maelstrom and ask them. It might just be a data entry error.

Kill: HM just dropped me a PM lol, its because they are direct only models, and by all accounts, barely any retailers sell direct models, so to compensate for the extra work they have had to push the prices up a bit.
