Last two armies to paint, guard is a little bit done. Thought I'd do two blogs rolled into one as I'm going to work on these two armies at the same time.

Both armies are 2,000 points and I hope to have them both finished by end of March see if I can do it

Two Valkyries I recently built, one I built last night:

I'm not sure if I like that Leman Russ or not...
But, because the old rule of mine says: "Don't call others models bad if your ain't better".
I can see potential in that Leman Russ. It needs a bit something, I dunno, washes maybe? Highlight?
But I still think that it's goodlooking.
But I won't say anything about those Dire Avengers before you wash them.

Er, if you look a little more you'll see that all models have been washed.

The leman russ has been washed devlan mud, thats why its dark. You can see the wash marks on the back of the turret, heavy bolter and front of the tank quite easily

The avengers have been washed too, leviathan purple but it only makes them darker. I'll probably wash the weapons gryphonne sepia to give them some depth.

No offence taken, just take a little more longer to look next time

I'm not fussed about mould lines. I'm not a hardcore core modeller, but thanks for the comment as that one does look a bit nasty :(

I know mate, i generally leave alot of em, but ones like that need to go
I tend to remove the ones that stand out, as it makes the paint job look better aswell, all through a simply slice of a blade

AYe, it is a nasty one that one. I'll keep a eye out for any more like that

Done some more work last night on the Guard & Eldar. I finished off the CCS, painted 7 other guardsmen and painted 10 dire avengers.

Sorry about the crappy pics, the light in my bedroom washes everything out and I need natural light - which is a weekend job providing the weather is ok.

Got some pics this weekend now I've managed to get some natural light.

I also had a game yesterday using the above guard list, except the baneblade. I think I'm going to drop the executioner, its ok but not brilliant against armour. I'm going to swap it for a normal Leman Russ. Vendettas I am still unsure about, will wait and see. I'm going to give my Command Squad 4 plasma guns instead and get another Command Squad too - two are better than one and I don't really need six troop choices! Apart from that I think its ok.

I lost the battle yesterday :( . I immobilised 4 of my 12 tanks on terrain! And because I run two Hellhounds in a squadron one was wrecked - bummer. I managed to claw it back, but with the CCS Chimera stuck behind terrain and couldn't draw LOS and both Demolishers stuck at the back fo the board I lost some significant fire power.

I got a crack on last night and finished off a few guardmens which gave me completed squads. Now got 3 melta veterans squad and 1 flamer veteran squad completed. I'm going to do chimera next for the flamer veterans and valkyries, though I've ran out of devlan mud wash! :(

I also finished off my first wave serpent! yay! Same colour scheme as the avengers, but the recess lines I've painted in black. So its purple, gold raised parts, black in the lines and mithril silver for the engine parts. Oh, weapons are bleached bone. I wash the purple body levithan purple and the bleached bone weapons gryphonne sepia. I have taken pics of it, but they haven't come out well. I'll get some more up soon.
