In all the 20 years I have been playing 40k I have never painted or used Chaos. That is about to change as I have fancied doing a Thousand Sons force for a while.
I bought a couple of boxes of TS today and during the week I got a Magnus The Red model from Ronin.
The mini is fairly big which brings me to the point of this thread, how big was Magnus meant to be? I seem to recall him described as a "giant".
I suppose the good thing about such a large mini is that he will fit the Daemon Prince rules nicely.

Magnus the Red is the Primarch of the Thousand Sons Chaos Space Marine legion. A giant in both physical and mental terms whilst a mortal inhabitant of the materium
- copied from the Lexicanum...ya so I would think he'd be a big boy

Where did you find that? I don't see them for sale very often.

A fella on Warseer traded it to me. Is new in box too (and marked number 15 of 150!).
I have an Emperor mini that was done a few years back and its about head and shoulders taller than a marine. Magnus is almost inquisitor scale.

And this is why Ronin miniatures is a great company. They bought GW's primarch sculpts after GW decided they weren't worth producing. I absolutely love the Primarch minis. Swap Shop had a Mortarion up a few months ago too. Absolutely beautiful stuff. I really wish GW would've kept these as special-order blisters.

Eh? They bought the sculpts? I thought they were slapped for producing these because they were copying their source material.

No they didn't...who told you that? Ronin made these sculpts, not GW. That's why they're not in production anymore, because GW slapped them on the wrist.
Anyways, it makes sense that Magnus is so big. He was quoted as being huge (a giant) even by primarch standards.
By the way...message me and I 'might' know of someone who frequently sells the Ronin miniatures on eBay .

There was a site up till about a year ago but its no longer active, I guess GW lawyers got involved. Now its seems its just ebay or trading sites. The Fulgrim one is currently on ebay.

I was told they bought the sculpts under a "Limited Production" agreement. Ah well. I'd still do for one of them the same thing I did for a Klondike Bar... On that note, don't ask.
