Hello all, as we all know homebrewed special characters are both ten a penny and generally very very broken. So I was wondering does anyone know a system for coming up with sets of stats and rules for special characters without the ancient battlecry of 'Beardy!!!!' being heard from your opponent. Better yet does anyone know how GW makes their Special Characters?

Cheers,

There is an easy way mate.

Post the character on here, and let people pull it apart and re-do rules / stats / points.

9/10 times after a few replies on it the characters tend to be pretty decent in terms of games.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

I just usually come up with a cool bit of fluff, and set the stat-line as appropriate.

For instance, if I were to make a Guard character, he was have no more than strength 4, as he is a regular human and hence has no genetic modifications to speak of.

Besides, the guys get a chance to let their FABULOUS! side out. - Fafnir, regarding male howling banshees

This is the best answer.
