Hello fellow gamers,

After reading over some very cool and wild ideas we decided to release our product preview list. The list below is projects that are due to release over the next 3 months into the 1st quarter of 2010.

Some of your great ideas we had been working on for several months before. We hope you like what we are doing at Battle Foam and please remember that we always keep our ears and eyes open to our customers.

December 15th 2009 - Privateer Press bags. Warmachine and Hordes army specific bags with full license and colors.

January 15th 2010 - P.A.C.K. Mini. A small bag made for just hobby tools or a couple of models. Great for taking little paint projects to your local store. Also good for travel to GT's (MSRP $18.99)

February 15th 2010 - P.A.C.K. 720. Middle bag to take up the size between the 432 and the 1520. Bag size will be 16 W x 12.5 L x 12 T. Airport Carry On Friendly. Will use current size trays. (MSRP N/A)

March 15th 2010 - P.A.C.K. 1520 XL. The new 1520 with wheels. A new system improving the old system. Built to travel with extra rugged wood and plastic construction. (MSRP $300.00 CLO)

March 15th 2010 - Modular Display Board. Still very secret. Can't tell you much other then its what you all have been waiting for. (MSRP N/A)

April 15th 2010 - P.A.C.K. Plus. Modular additions to add to your P.A.C.K. systems. These should help people with organized storage and never outgrowing the P.A.C.K. system. (MSRP N/A)

May and beyond. Washes, More trays, More bags, and cheaper prices. We hope this gets you guys excited. We work very hard to not only listen but to take to production your ideas and ours. With information from our customers the sky is the limit.

Does this mean different bag types to add inbetween, or replace current parts of the 1520? Cause that would be cool.

Hi Combatmedic -

It does mean new parts. These will work with all current systems and future systems. All will feature the zipper attachment and will allow for growth or just storage at home. All attachments will zip together to create supper tall kits or smaller ones.

Will it be possible to add wheels to a current 1520?

or trade in the bottom of the 1520 to one with wheels for a slight fee?

Hi Cyporiean,

Sorry but no. The current 1520 is a back pack system. The new 1520 XL is actually a different looking bag and has wheels. Also the new 1520 XL will not be a two part system. It will be one solid bag and feature the modular add on zipper like all of our bags. You will still be able to remove the top of your current 1520 and zip it onto the new 1520 XL when it comes out. You will also be able to zip the new PLUS add ons and the 216.

Thats pretty disappointing, looks like I'll be continuing with back pains then as I can't justify getting another 1520.

The one product I found most interesting was the one product that you are not giving details about.

A friend of mine went to gen con two years ago and came back home with a nifty 12'x18" display base that was made for warmachine/hordes. Bunch of holes and many of the holes had varying depths to accommodate varying base sizes. The 50mm hole also went one level deeper to accommodate a 40mm base, etc. It wasn't the prettiest thing to look at, but the holes were clean (presumably using a C&C machine) and was a very durable 1/4" thick piece of masonite. A very practical item.

If the product is anything like that, it will sell.

Hi JonnyDelta,

Yes, all the new and old bags will zip together. All of our P.A.C.K. systems will always be built to work together unless stated.

Yes, the modular game board is a bit top secret but only because its so cool. Its coming very soon and will blow your mind. We will have full product reviews and pictures in the coming weeks.

By the way, I haven't congratulated you yet on your deal with Wayland Games (http://www.waylandgames.co.uk/battlefoam/cat_504.html) for distribution in the UK. Having moaned about the price of postage of your products to the UK I want to now congratulate you on doing something positive about it.

In particular I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the P.A.C.K. Mini and I'm glad that your business is developing well. I look forward to great things now it is accessible from this side of the pond!

Ditto that. I finally bit the bullet and grabbed a 432 on black friday, and I'm definitely excited about a 720. If it does indeed drop mid-february, I might spin one as an early birthday present for myself.

Looks like the product line's growing in leaps and bounds.

BTW, as an unrelated question: Could Battlefoam create custom trays with a custom footprint? I ask because sadly, my KR Multicase uses a tray size that appears unique to the manufacturer (10 x 15 inches).

Hi,

Agamemnon2 - We can create foam for any size case. Normal custom orders for trays that are non standard thing we carry are $30.00 per tray. This is mainly because we need to cut the main large blocks of foam into smaller section that we don't stock.

Malfred - The trays for the new bags are 15.5 x 8.5 x various. The sizes will all be posted next week and the picture of the bags will also be up to view. Stay tuned.

Are there plans for Wayland games to stock other trays than the 40k ones (fantasy and the like)?

oh and while i'm asking, are there plans to do more fantasy trays for your stock list like you have for 40k? (such as 2 corpse cart a varghalf and the rest infantry for vampires)

I'm looking forward to the plane compliant bag. And all the current BF trays will be able to be used in it as well?

I think that's been covered already but I just want to make sure before I place another order.

Who won the free army then??????

Quote from Battlefoam's previous post,"WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE FROM BATTLE FOAM NEXT????".........

"As an added perk, if your idea is a good one and we decide to go with it, we'll give away a free army"

Just asking as your previous post indicated you'd give away a free army in exchange for some good ideas. The new releases you've suggested were all put forward as ideas by multiple Dakka members.

Hi,

TheSecretSquig - Well, we are still waiting to find that lucky dakka member. All of the ideas have been amazing, but 90% of them had already been in production. I wish I could say we are that amazing that we can rearch, develope, produce, market, and release new stuff in less then 3 weeks. LOL

All of the items on our list have been in some form of production or research since February of this year. The web app was something that we wanted to launch with the original site but we went with custom tracing instead.

Keep in mind that we are still waiting for that really cool idea that will blow our socks and yours off. Trust me when I tell that we may have one that may be a winner. We are looking into it right now to see about cost. No, its not something listed above. It is something that one of the members suggested. If we take it to market, we will announce that member or a new member as the winner.

This free army is not an expiring offer so keep the ideas coming.

Hope that helps.

Going back over your site I noticed that their was something missing. I was looking for trays that would fit into a battlefoam backpack. Sure we have all the other bags and what not to carry, and some mayber over the shoulder one strappers, but I think a battlefoam backpack would be AWSOME!! Also maybe some rubberized terrain that could be packed easily would work out well.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!
