Doing my usual Monday/Tuesday contemplation on what list I will run this weekend at our local store. I like to keep my list somewhat the same but rotate in new things from time to time. This weekend I will be ditching my long used warshrine to try out an actual chariot, while also using Festus for the first time ever.

*General* - Lvl 4 Sorc Lord of Tzeentch - Disc, Bronze Armor, Infernal Puppet, Collar of Khorne, Book of Secrets, Conjoined Hom.

- Lvl 2 Sorc of Tzeentch - Mounted, Dispel Scroll x 2, Eye of Tzeentch
- Festus the Leechlord (Counts as Lvl 2 Sorc of Nurgle)
- Exalted Hero - Great Weapon, Shield, BSB - Blasted Banner, MoT

11 Warriors of Tzeentch - Great Weapons, Shields, F/C, Banner of Rage
16 Warriors of Tzeentch - Great Weapons, Shields, Banner, Musician
10 Marauder Horsemen - MoK, Flails, LA, Musician
5 Knights - MoT, Banner, Musician
1 Chariot - Mok

Total = 2249 out of 2250

Premise is to slot Exalted hero and festus in the 11 strong warriors. Makes it an expensive unit but pretty much unstoppable. You have the ability to run 6 in the front (festus, exalted hero, champion, 3 warriors) while keeping 1 rank in the back. On the charge you can use great weapons for a staggering 13 Strength 6, 5 strength 7, and of course festus like 4 Str 4 or w/e he is attacks (these are counting+1 attack from banner of rage). On the defensive, use HW/shields for 2+ armor saves while still keeping Str4-5 attacks on the rebound. Unit has both exalted hero, festus, and champion capable of challenging giving plenty of options to keep optimal person in duel and reg combat. Also is immune to psychology and with BSB very hard to shoot up with 2+ armor and 4+ ward saves AND regenerate on 5+ thanks to festus. Festus can throw magic missiles and curse of leper at approaching enemies to soften them up as they approach too. This is alot of eggs in one basket, but flanked by the other block of warriors and knights/chariot...the enemy will almost forced to take them head on or try their hand at magic.

The 16 block I would run 6,6,4 wide. I just had like 70ish points at the end and felt why waste them? WoC are arguably the strongest core block. Give them Great Weps for charging, and shields/hw for defensive or charges into prolonged combat. MoT for the ward save, no champion since no warshrine and no heroes to protect.

The 10 block of horsmen (2 x 5 wide) is not a mistake. I know light cav don't get rank bonuses. The premise of this unit is 16" of movement, using fast cav rules to reform not in LoS of charges, and getting them quickly around a units flank to decimate archers, sorcs, and other light units. The 10 provides a US of 20, which gives you possible out number, and ensures some will survive shooting to make it to their intended targets. Also good for holding a quarter at end. The 1 block of 10 is also cheaper cause of mark cost then 2 units of 5.

No champ in knights cause of no hero or warshrine.

Dropped my warshrine of usual for the chariot. My goal is to use warriors to pull into combat, then flank charge with knights and chariot. Worst case knights + chariot can front charge and possibly decimate the enemy unit or pulp heroes/rares/specials.

Army has very strong magic phase with 10 casting dice, the conjoined homoc, and I like the book of secrets for 2 reasons on the Lvl 4 and not the 2. 1) I take lore of fire and get 2 good magic missiles with Flickering Fire and Lore of Fire...both able to be cast with just 1 dice. and 2) Gives me 5 in 6 chance of getting pandemonium on the level 4. Pandemonium + infernal puppet will wreak havoc on your enemies magic phase. The Lvl 2 tzeentch sorc is able to easily out manuv enemy advances with being mounted, and has a 2+ armor and 6+ ward against attempts to shoot it down. Great cheap platform for a magic missile thrower and 2 dispel scrolls for clutch situations. Lord and lvl 2 sorc combined are over 500 pts and are easily good denials with their strong saves and high movement.

Let me know what you think! Especially you Boss-Salvage!

Looks groovy to me, pretty small force but everything looks dedicated to what it does best. The 10 horsemen I wonder at - though I know your thoughts on their survivability I'd rather 2x5 myself, or if you go 10 then what about a standard? You're investing the points, might as well sink some more CR in too. And the warriors, why 16? 18 is sexier and not far off. I feel like your level 4 could be tweaked a bit too, such as, why bronze armor? There's very little KB shooting out there, and you really shouldn't be fighting anything up close that can KB him! E. shield is more like it IMO, if your model has one handy. And why the collar and not golden eye?

FWIW, here's where I retype your list and do stuff:

L: Sorcerer Lord - MoT, enchanted shield, golden eye, infernal puppet, book of secrets, disc, level 4 = 410
H: Sorcerer - MoT, 2 scrolls, steed, level 2 = 206
H: Festus = 185
H: Exalted - MoT, BSB, blasted standard, halberd, shield = 199

C: 10 Warriors - MoT, banner of rage, full command, gw, shields = 265
C: 18 Warriors - MoT, full command, gw, shields = 374
C: 10 Horsemen - MoK, standard, musician, flails, light armor = 208

S: 5 Knights - MoT, standard, musician = 250
S: Chariot - MoK = 150
-------
2247

So that does what I was babbling about above. But I realized why it seems so small, you have no utility troops at all. Even 1 unit of puppies are infinitely useful, especially when you've got 3 frenzied units in your army (1/2 of your units in fact, and 2 are pretty expensive). How are you taking out war machines? Hammering them with magic?

I took bronze on the lord cause my opponent might end up being a DE, I usually don't tailor but he tends to run an assassin. Immune to KB and Poison is nice. If not it will be a diff VC guy...so no siege but possible KB.

16 warriors because I had them 12 then just threw the extra points in. I could bring them down to 12 and throw 2 dog units in though I don't plan to have to screen much. The horsemen will be only units on the flank and potentially able to be baited.

I guess I could knock the other unit down to 10, though I wanted 11 in case I decided to remove festus during the game.

I might split the horsemen to be able to to cover both flanks, but no kidding when the 10 unit killed an entire unit of bats, wolves, and a vargulf while still having enough to claim a quarter

VC will give you serious problems. Just a few summoned units of zombies here and there and your whole army is charging every which way. Using fast cav rules to face out of LOS of charges doesn't do much when they can summon a unit in front of it and send you running off the board.
