I'm making a Guard army that is made of 2 seperate regiments, as a result I want to do them as a slightly different paint scheme (tanks will be Adeptus Battlegrey and Black, infantry and transports will be red and black)

If I turned up to a game with an army with 2 seperate colour schemes, would you not allow me or be fine with it?

Collected Armies:
40K: Unsure which at the moment
AoS: Stormcast Eternals

I only play against uniformly edged, shaded, blended, based, converted (min 25% sculpted from scratch) armies with at least 30 pages of background story. God help you if you've so much as TOUCHED a drybrush.

Seriously though, nobody will mind one way or the other.

It would be fine, so long as your scheme was consistant.

Fluffwise, it would make sense as well. Other than Mechanized Infantry Regiments most Guard armies keep their Vehicles in Seperate Regiments, so your vehicles could be another colour.

Well I'm still working on the paint jobs, but I do have the background. Where should I send the novel? (:

Angels of Nezeria (Dark Angels successor chapter)
Tau Marines: Defectors to the Tau Empire (let the nerdrage begin!)

ou might run into trouble in Apocalypse games. Just make sure you explain the color scemes are part of the same army, and not allies, and you should be fine.

I would be fine with it. My Space Marines are blue and white. ML guys have yellow on their right shoulder pad and a band on their right leg and two on top of the head, Plasma is green, Flamer is red, Melta is orange. Sternguard are gold and white. Master of the Forge is white. Captain is gold and blue. Sisters of Battle are Boltgun Metal and red and Scouts are black with a Dark Angles green cloak. Tank crew is red with Boltgun Metal.

Basically my Space Marines army has more different coloured units than most Eldar armies I've faced

I doubt it's that big a deal to anyone. Maybe tourneys, but even that's a stretch (As long as you explain that they are all, in fact, part of the same army). My friend did his own Guard army the same way - basically half of them are blue, half of them are red. His army is themed after Cobra from G.I. Joe, which is why they're split in different colors. The strictest enforcements I've ever seen on a paint job were that for a tourney at my FLGS, any model enlisted into the list had to be at the very least basecoated (No grey or black armies of dooooooom).

My Armies:
Kal'reia Sept Tau - Farsight Sympathizers
Da Great Looted Waaagh!
The Court of the Wolf Lords

The Guard codex itself tells us that regiments are specialised; an infantry regiment will not be issues with substantial armour or artillery...

That's why my Cadian army does the same thing... only a bit less radical than what you're doing, my tanks are in Cadian camouflage whilst the crews wear normal GW-style fatigues, but the infantry are in the GW wasteland camo scheme

They're the 609th and 412th Cadian, respectively.

Thought I'd give the whole 'Blogger' lark a go...
-Cadian 812th (rotting in a cupboard)
-Dark Angels 3rd Company (in disfavour, eBay?)
-Irun'Mahn (pretty and deserve love; why aren't I giving them it?)
-Draigo 'n' his Merry Band (to be continued) - How to magnetise Grey Knight strike squads' two-handed and special weapons
-The Maggot Host
Klan WurldWaagh -Are now in my first P&M blog! If you like the idea of WW2 and Orks, please take a look...

My Marine force is consistantly black and white colours on both infantry and vehicle (Its pretty much a black templar colour scheme) However all my scouts and speeders and even a dread are Dark Angel and Camo Green, its obvious to my opponents they are the same team so isn't a problem.

You'll only realistically need to explain yourself at Apocalypse games as already mentioned, or if you meet TFG, in which case you'd save yourself the hassle of playing against him anyway, so its win win
