I made a 600 point list for learning the game, how does it look?

I have 3 churchills, 2 regular, 1 VII/croc as well; but I read around some, and it seems taking something that badass in a 600 pt list isn't done in the escalation leagues

Doesn't look too bad for a start. At 600 pts, I'd recommend dropping the small Rifle Platoon and replacing it either with a Mortar Platoon or a Carrier Patrol.

Since you're playing an infantry list, smoke bombardment is key to keeping your troops from getting gunned down when they move. Mortars are really darned useful even as the point values of your army go up, as the ability to block LOS with smoke is incredibly valuable.

Machine gun nest in front of your advancing troops? Smoke it. Enemy observer getting ready to drop artillery on your lines? Smoke it. Tanks firing HE into your men from beyond PIAT range? Smoke it.

Note that while your Light Mortar teams are equipped with Smoke rounds, they cannot fire Smoke bombardments and their rounds do not block LOS. Same thing goes for your Shermans.

For the other suggestion, Recon units will allow you to dig out an entrenched enemy. Assuming that you'll be playing vs German forces, rifle fire will take forever and a day to blow them out of their trenches. Most of the time, you'll be hitting them on 6s and then needing another 6 to kill a stand. While you have heavier guns (light mortars and Shermans), they don't throw as much lead as your rifle teams, so you need to make those dice count. Using Recon to reduce the to-hit to 5+ and in conjunction with Semi-Indirect Fire makes it much easier to force your opponent to do something other then sit in their foxholes.

Of the two, I think the Mortar platoon is more useful at the moment, but give some thought to adding Recon once you get some more points to play with.
