Personally I love the feral pig iron heads or the rebel ones. Also I make my own breather packs out of plasticard so it adds life to them. simple conversion, but great overall effect.

Check out my Traitors for examples. The photo uses Fallen Legionnaire heads, Tox Guardsman Heads, and Guardsman Backpacks from MaxMini, and Gas Mask / Helmet heads from WestWind.

For my traitors I use marauder bits, cadian bits, and flagellant bits. I also use the heads from pig iron minis.
For my HQ's I used the robed figures from the redemptionist range.
For my penal legions, I have used fantasy ghouls armed with lasguns.
