Are there any plans for heavier tanks like the King Tiger as well? I have my eye on making a E-50, but I'm not sure if I'm up to the effort of sanding down a Warlord resin kit to suit (your plastics have been great for making stuff like katzchen APCs).

Not at the moment, our production schedule had been focused on WW2 early and mid war right now.
We probably will do a King Tiger at a later date.

Ah right, that's good to know. Heh, an E-50's a goal of mine, but in terms of actual wargame use perhaps a bit of a stretch (in a 1000 points game of Bolt Action one would probably be half the points).

Hopefully we'll see a M3 Stuart as part of your schedule. My Uncle Sam's Misguided Children could use a Satan flamethrower tank.

Pic of Rubicon's upcoming Opel Maultier:

Its the regular truck kit with an addon spure, so includes the usual benches, etc. I'll pick one up for my alt-history Eastern Front Germans.

Thanks Wyrmalla for following us on new projects!

This is an upcoming plastic sprue, when available, you can build yourself a multi-function
Fiberboard Box Body for either our current Opel Blitz or the upcoming Maultier truck!

This is a standard box design used by the Wehrmacht during WW2 on all trucks. Made of
fiberboard, it can be used as radio communication, repair workshop, ambulance, kitchen,
command post... anything you can think of!

Enjoy!

Have you ever thought if using vinyl belts for your model tracks? I'm sure that would be the better option for a wargame complexity level model compared to what you and Warlord are already using.

Problem with vinyl belts are durability. Particularly with current raw material standard, they will only last for a few years before they started to disintegrate and break apart. For the wargame community, vehicles are build to last a lifetime...

Thanks Rubicon, and I prefer the hard plastic for wargaming models, as they get moved several times during a game and treated a lot more harshly than even throwaway radio control tank kits.

Er...that would be like going back several decades in time. One of the huge steps forward in smaller scale AFV kit design has been the virtual disappearance of the rubber band tracks (Dragon still uses them, but their kits are primarily intended for display). With the standard of moulding that companies like Rubicon have achieved, we get the tracks and running gear in a few pieces. It's much quicker to build, and much more robust. There's some loss of detail on the track faces, although with vehicles like the Maultier it's minimal.

The new Maultier looks great - Rubicon are really cornering the market when it comes to plastic soft-skin kits.

Personally I'm fine with any loss of detail, as those tracks tore really easily. I also appreciate that Rubicon largely make their track assemblies out of one piece plus the road wheel details. I always hated trying to put together the individual links on Tamiya kits (though those are good for adding as stowage) and you always wound up buying ones second hand with one track facing the wrong way from the other. :(

Any ETA on when the track Opel Maultier will be out? If I could have one now I'd be using it in my next game.

Damn, I may just buy the regular Blitz and turn it into this in the meantime.

Oh that is very nice. Can the same kit make the half track and the truck version?

There's enough parts on the sprue to make one box, which will fit either the Blitz, or its tracked version (the tracked version itself using a different lower chassis by looks of it, so the wheeled version's box sits a tad higher). IIRC they also said it could sit free standing if you want, though I'm not sure if the kit includes any base for it to stand on (easy enough to make from plasticard).

Though we're still waiting on that Opel Maultier kit...
