Think one of them is a 3 up...
That's what I thought at first, but the big one looks like the proper one, and I have never seen a painted three up before. Also the big one is the one from the promo photo because it has a Tzeentch symbol on its loincloth while the mini one doesn't. Are they doing three downs now?

3-Ups were never painted - and 3D modelling made them kind of obsolete. The smaller one is more like a 3-down. Do we know anything by GW that comes in a scale Three times smaller than the infamous 28/32 mm40k? That would be very roughly 8mm or.... AT

There is someone at Forgeworld (Alan Bligh?) who has been making smaller versions of most of their miniatures for years. The same one the mini-Warlord a year ago came from. Maybe this smaller Magnus is a 'test print' made by the GW studio which someone decided to paint just for fun.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Battlebunnies have posted lots of photos of the 40k Open Day btw
Let's do the open day stuff in a new thread alright ?
thanks.

So the Fortress of Redemption, that's a re-release right? I didn't realise it had been unavailable. Unless I am missing something and this is subtley different?

"So a Gentlemen on Facebook (I wont post the name out of respect) Who had some reliable information in the past posted a supposed "Release list" for December.
Daemon Primarch Magnus
Plastic 40k Ahriman
Plastic Rubric marines
Plastic Rubric terminators
40k Tzaangors (bizarre but asked twice regarding this)
Sorcerer Cabal (Not sure if new models or re-packaging)
and at the end of december; Plastic Canoness for Sisters of Battle.....
The books are supposedly War Zone Fenris 2
Traitor Legions (not known if a rules book, an art book)
supposedly 8 mega force bundles in december between 40k and AOS (even split)
- Take with salt I suppose, but the guy has been fairly open regarding stuff in the past - "
Pretty much a perfect christmas release for me.

Just a plastic Canoness? Could it be some sort of boxed game like Prospero where you got a plastic Ahriman? Seems odd they'd just release a plastic Canoness and nothing else? Gah! Waited 12 years for plastic sisters!! Please don't have doodoo rules!! Please have models that actually look like women!!!
Hero Base sets also contain number of skulls that were not mentioned in White Dwarf (including Orc, Tau, Genestealer and Bird skulls). Much awesome.

AoS:
So made in China, with less quality and no sharp features but everything is dull and rounded? Not so impressed with the AoS and 40K bases I bought. Quality is not there. Detail is not there. Box totally different from the actual sprues. So I guess these are the "fake" sprues I like to call them since they are not the ones in the box.

It's supposedly for the end of December so the main Sisters release could be Jan. Didn't someone say their release was rumored for Jan or Feb?

Rumour I heard was for a Q1 release for sisters with pre-orders at the end of Jan for a Feb release. If the sisters pop up early Jan I'll be even happier

On the plus side, I was premature in thinking these would hurt Quantum Gothic, they're not nearly as nice as I thought from the initial descriptions.
A Large Hadron Collider powered by psyker blood? Damnit, I had no interest in that kit until you sold me on it.

Was thinking that myself.
Mainly as a tissue-thin justification for ordering a £20 set of bases I have zero use for in order to harvest the sweet, sweet Xenos skulls for an INQ28 project, but still

A GUO can have 7 wounds if he rolls corpulescence for a greater reward. Im not 100 percent on this but i think one of the new nurgle warlord traits is also +1 wound, so the 2 things stacking would make an 8 wound creature.
Some of the tyranid gargantuans maybe?
Maybe a squiggoth?
Perhaps they intend for people to be able to use them for AOS as well if they want.

Are they same d10 as in burning of prospero? Maybe it's just "let's get more mileage out of these since we have them". Works better as wound marker than regular d6 as less chance to accidentally use them(been there, done that) and future proof for future releases(I could see Mortarion having tons of wounds...)/8th ed.
