My thoughts as well.

I got so swamped at work yesterday I couldn't fiddle with KS at all and got stuck with my initial 100€ pledge. Which is fine, I guess.

I ended up downgrading from the default pledge to the Lite pledge but added the walker tank. Not interested in those minis and the vertical pack is fine I guess, but pretty meh nonetheless.

I dropped to 1E to keep my foot in the door but, at this point, it'll just be a donation to the project. The huge price hike alone is a deterrent to my even getting more Cathedral sets to add to the ones I got in the previous campaign. It just doesn't sit right to pay THAT much more for something already developed and produced. I understand cost increases but not THAT much.

I kept my pledge as it was because I have money to spare, but if I were in a tighter spot I would have dropped to just a Kazumi lite pledge or even dropped it altogether. I've already said it several times, but this KS was all over the place instead of sticking to a theme, and maybe build on the prior ones.

I should have used a late pledge before Xmas, but I decided to take the risk, and lost. Alas.

Good point on the sci-fi civilians. Look how well Crooked Dice has done with their Colony 87 Kickstarters.

I think not having civilians in this campaign was fine as it was targeted at wargamers. I think they'd do better putting those into a sci-fi/modern Dungeons & Lasers instead of in Rampart.

A Starfinder, Stargrave & friends focused D&L would be amazing.

Mebbe the miniatures were originally from another sf project, like Archon's Space Crusades (sp)? IIRC, At least one mini from their D&L3 KS, the demon EB figure, was from SC or a previous project.

Unfortunately, compared to generic fantasy, sf has too many subgenres, and it looks like a "generic GW sf" line is still fragmented. Archon also seems to put out what sculpts it wants, but while this works fine with generic fantasy (a goose sitting on an axe!) I dunno about GW sf.

The minis are all from their resin Empire of Man KS so they were already 3d sculpted, all they need to do is cut them for sprue production so a lot less work than designing something new

Looks like tooling is almost done and shipping could be very early

Sorry for the potatoe cam the update is in the video which I’ve screen capped. Tools are done but the image layout shows them better. The car and cannon are a decent size.

Today I was wondering about the rapid delivery. I ordered a Kasumi temple along the new stuff, and after 2 months of silence I was growing concerned. Glad to know things are moving behind the scenes.

Incredible, Rampart is going to ship the new stuff like 6 months earlier than planned. I guess this time Archon went with a longer delay than really needed in case things happened.

A modest 2x Lite Pledge with City ruins and 2 Mammoth walkers. The floors and the chibi Krieg babes don't seem worth it.

I think part of it is that the campaign did poorly, so not many stretch goals ended up being added. The tooling on the floors/walls were already done.

AMA 22nd July update

- Rampart shipping starts next week (D&L UK shipping delayed shipping by 1 week)
- Sci-Fi game got sidelined as mini tooling wasn't ready - focused on terrain first. Miniature tech is now where they want it.
- 4 Factions planned - Vampires (Undead inc Zombies), Humans (Renegades), Alien race (didn't catch the name), The Lizard type race has been redesigned.
- Planned to be 32mm scale (CMON scale mentioned)
- Space combat game also in the works
- New Sci-Fi terrain - pros and cons of making it compatible with D&L may be a new system? Jarek feels D&L was better laid out and designed than Rampart but they hadn't planned D&L when they did the first Rampart stuff.

Good idea on the walkers being 2 or 4 legged.

It would be nice if Archon could find a way to reconcile Rampart with D&L. Surely there must be an artistic/engineering solution.

Those models have a chance to be moderately successful, I imagine. Remind me of AT-43 a bit.

If I recall correctly the original resin walkers had the option for the amount of legs as well.

Been a while though.

- Rampart 3 shipping has started
- Pledge Manager to reopen next week (Wednesday or Thursday) for late pledges or uncompleted pledges.
- Expect the plastic minis in the Sci-Fi game (see above) to be larger than the previous versions they released in resin they need to be upscaled for plastic tooling.
