Okay that did sound pretty negative. Sorry for the vibes. But renaissance garnature is literally the peak of personal armour design, mobility, protection and modularity wise, historical armour is great. More historical= Really awesome. Some fantasy tweaks are great and always welcome, but things were like they were for a reason.
Glory to the Holy Kaiser

I agree, half or 3/4 harness demi lancers would be awesome as well.

If they want to really go rennaisance armour they should take a look at italian armour at the time, which had a reputation as one of the, if not outright the best armour.

There's some amazing 16th century plate armour out there... e.g. Greenwich style from England:

The Negroli brothers in Italy were doing some outrageously ornate armours with raised foliate designs.

And the Knights of Malta had some lush armour in the same era -- looking much like Italian armour but with some distinctive scale skirts...

Well, they explicitly stated that these will be fantasy knights, so that's OK.
As the designs are digital, a historical knights set might also come eventually. WA uses the basic horses for several projects, just with different reins, barding etc.
I think a historical knights set is not top priority right now, as the Perrys already have some near perfect ones available.
Fantasy almost-historical knights are missing currently, however.

Just copy that picture OldMate posted, call them -totally-not-Empire Knights, give them multiple crazy helmet options Wolf/Beaks/Lion (and some normal helmets too).

Profit.

What is missing is fantasy scaled knights. Yes, Perry have great little historical knights, but currently there is no option for 32-35mm knights in HIPS.

I will point out that the Tully Cavaliers and Champions of the Stag from CMON's ASOIAF are amazing but they are on the expensive side at $8 a pop.

Heck, I’d buy a box of fantasy-scaled horses that I could use with historical knights. The tiny horses are what ruin most Knight kits for me.

Hope they do a fantasy knights kit in 32mm and later maybe some 28mm historicals that would fit the conquistadors. The perrys are a little bit early to fit these.

My thoughts were a winged hussar. The breastplate design looks pretty typical for them. Which if it is, is an cool surprise. The fact he's wearing a gorget, pauldrons and tassets and very little arm armour is consistent with winged hussar equipment.

For a typical knight I'd expect more plate on the arms, including plated gauntlets/mittens and more maile in the elbow/armpit/groin.

OR it's generic medium cavalry.

How about the new german WW2 sentries?
Looking a bit strange to me, pretty different from their resistance or Lehr sets...
The idea of a clandestine operations themed WW2 range is pretty cool however...

They give a serious "Wolfenstein 3D enemy" vibe

There's a lot of cool medieval armor out there and I'd love to see something like this show up on an officer model:

Very nice. The goths shields are a bit tiny and the dracostandard should be a bit longer, but that's minor quibbles.
Coincidentally, Victrix also just announced late romans and goths... honi soit qui mal y pense...

In the end I will buy both anyway, to much of a plastic-crack junky

Wargames Atlantic is also doing army builder sets of both Romans and goths, so If you wanted to use these boxes set to make command you could generate a bunch of units in no time

I collect:

Grand alliance death (whole alliance)

Stormcast eternals

Slaves to Darkness - currently Nurgle but may expand to undivided.

Uh, what? "Very little arm armour" is 'consistent'? Here, have a look:

Spoiler:

I have no idea what 'winged hussars' you mean because real ones had three layers of armour on their arms, because fights with other medium and heavy cavalry using swords/sabers were very common and you needed that protection in lieu of shield.

I will also be really disappointed if these are supposed to be 'hussars' as breastplate style is wrong, pauldrons are way too short, no bracers, no rich decoration that is like the common part of all hussar armour styles. The leg protection also looks iffy to me and way more 'knight' than a 'hussar' and most certainly not consistent with their usual look.

And so I will do! Really excited how the medieval army builders turn out. For horse and musket era its rather easy. All march attack and you're good. But in earlier times its more difficult to make them more differentiated, yet still coherent.

...Army builder would be a nice idea for the napoleonic spaniards also...?

Oh those spanish lancers are nice. The horse armour looks great. Looks like the burgonettes have a faceplate that you can add and the sallet also does and plently of optional feathers. Really exceptional work. The Franks also look really nice.
