I’m eagerly waiting for word bearer heads, but I’m guessing they’ll just be basic mk 6 heads with runes carved in them

Not going to lie: I've been looking for Night Raptors heads online. Found some of too but it's a question of getting them.

Honestly GW would be getting more money out of me if I could source things from them but 3rd party it is for at least some of my stuff.

I'm interested in a squad or 2 for my Istvaan baddies list, but kinda waiting till the heads get released.

This NL model is not the only one with a polearm. Also fighting in any kind of cramped interiors (space hulk corridor, tunnels, etc.) will make such a weapon difficult or even worthless to use.

40K ship interiors aren't actually that cramped considering a Coldstar Battlesuit can maneuver through an Imperial cruiser.

Yeah, the whole concept of slashing with a chain weapon does imply the person has never used a chainsaw. Looks cool though

Some of the heads have been quite unique, so I'm hoping for something good. Maybe we'll get stylized horned heads or even corrupted heads with teeth.

Wasn't there a reveal for Word Bearer Mk6 heads already, or did I imagine it?

But when people start complaining about the wings in general, along with things like flayed skin, spikes, chains, etc, I really just have to think "This really just isn't the Legion for you". All of those things are pretty core to their identity. It's like complaining about bionics on Iron Hands models.

I don't think that anybody has been complaining about wings, flayed skin, spikes, chains etc. existing at all in this thread. It's specifically the implementation of (some of) those features which people have been highlighting as not being very well done (like for example the chain/hook with no texture behind it, or models being plastered in wings).

Prometheum5 wrote:You've just described pretty much every Night Lords model in my mind. I don't think there's any saving their established look.

Either/Or wrote: That poor model makes me feel embarrassed just looking at it. Night lords as a concept are already a bit silly, I think their models need to be subtle to pull of their schtick and not look like He-Man villains.

That's the kind of stuff that gets my back up. They've also been described as a "joke" and as "flanderised" (including by yourself). And although that praetor is overdone, I can find similar examples from almost any Legion. But fans of those Legions may like those details, same as Night Lords fans may like the ones on our models.

I'd really like a few of those "Headsman" style Mark III helmets. But they seem to be sticking with Mark VI, so probably won't happen.

If you don't like the Night Lords Praetor helmet, just use the bare head version.

Those Space Wolves pauldrons look pretty cool. The design reminds me of the logo of the Red Wolves:

Might have to get the worldy set purely for the laughing head. Gw are really improving the variety of facial expressions as of late. No longer must my marines be perpetually angry.

While I agree, I like the pissed off look as in "you just bisected my battle brother, now you must die!" Look.

But they have been hitting it out of the park with unhelmeted heads. I say more the merrier, as my Salamanders have a large proportion of bare heads. As long as it doesn't have a ton of long hair it's easy for me to "baldify" them to match their gene-fathers dome...

If they’re going to match the glory of the space wolf helmets then I expect them to be books with eye holes cut in them.

As much as I want them to hurry up and release Despoilers/Assault Marines or Night Lords upgrade sets, I have a backlog to work through still and a basing scheme to work out so I can't claim I need more right this moment.

For now at least. I'll worry about later when it happens.

We’ll also have loads to show you on the Warhammer Community website, including a look at the Amazon team’s rules in Blood Bowl, and big reveals for Warhammer Underworlds and Warhammer: The Horus Heresy. Big Reveals hopefully means more than just another legion upgrade kit; and I think at this point every plastic kit previously shown off has been released other than the Proteus, right?

Big reveals could be anything. Maybe it's a big tank for example. Or they show us *two* sets of legion upgrades on the same day.

I basically just skip past "big", "epic", "awesome", or any other adjective used by marketing when talking about their products as a rule of thumb.

Hmm... that assassin, and it's use in the Battle Report between Jervis Johnson and Jake Thornton in WD175, was the basis for the Eversor Assassin.

And now it's back as its own thing.

I love it.
