Enigmatic Sorcerer of Chaos

Ok so Im going to really start trying to get my WoC army painted and decided to start a blog for it. Some fluff on the army: Within the lands of The Old World, thrived a city of man that was once prosperous and powerful. The city had been this way for many years and had never been bothered by anyone or anything. However, one day a rather odd figure managed his way into the city, wrapped in a dark cloak and carrying a hidious staff, his face unseen and a horendous smell drifted from him. He was known as many things and where ever he went, a new name was bestowed upon him. Since entering the city, he became known as The Wanderer. It was not long after his arrival that men, women, and children became very ill. After realizing what The Wanderer had brought with him, the ruler of the city, King Astogon, sent forth his gaurds to dispatch of him. Before the men could return to their kings side, a hidous plague had infected them all and it spread throughout the city within days. As weeks went by, the plague rapidly increased and worsened. King Astogon realized that if he was not to do something soon, the entire city would become a corpse bearing wasteland. By the time he gathered the people of the city in hopes to bring forth a solution, over half of its people were already dead. With a sobbing plea, the king and his people, offered there services to Khorne, asking that he free them from the plague and in return promising to fight for him and claim skulls in his name. While the plague was never fully banished, the men lived and fought for Khorne, promising to bring forth carnage upon any who dare plague their lands again. Its a rough start but let me know what you think. It also gives a bit of story behind the banners of the army, although many of the banners have their own personal meanings which I will explain later on. The only things I have painted and are worth showing are, My Chaos Dragon, which isnt finished yet odviously but its nearing that point... And my converted BSB which is actually painted for the most part now, so I will post some pictures tomorrow...

The dragon is fantastic, I like the splitting of it
Red undercoat, you must take photos of each stage of painting, so we can see how a red undercoat turns out.
Keep posting

Alright well I took some pics of the steps I use to paint the Warriors and new pics of the exalted.
For Warriors:
1. Spray them red (its glossy it gets fixed later on)
2. Do all the other base coats, Boltgun Metal, Chaos Black, and I tend to paint skulls and the bases with Astronomicon grey (or something like that?)
3. Go over the entire model (except for the black areas) with a heavy Devlan Mud. Can do it twice depending on how dark you want it. This gives it a better looking red and also takes away that annoying glossy look. You can also do all the skulls in Gryphon Sepia wash.
4. Drybrush all the black with that Astronomicon Grey (I think its called something else...)
5. Do all the small details and touch up (I havent reached thiis stage on any model yet )
And heres some current pics of the exalted. Some pictures of him with another standard for scale, and in a unit of Warriors. He not finished yet but better than plain red!
Oh and sorry about the bad pictures... my camera was all messed up so I gotta fix it.

Just so were clear on this, does Khorne support breast cancer?

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

Well... the fight against it haha. In the fluff, the plague was supposed to symbolize cancer (not specificaly breast cancer).

Ok so I spent much longer tonight painting (I tend to paint for very short periods of time usually) to try and finish up that unit of warriors. The only thing left on them is going back an doing another wash on a few places that got missed and still have glossy red showing through, skulls, and other little details. Honestly this is the first unit I have EVER fully painted to what I would say is at table top quality and doesnt look completely horrific. This turned out much better than I thought it was going to and seeing it full painted is going to motivate me big time to paint the entire army, besides the FW Mammoth Im trying to get, I dont think Im going to buy anything else until everything is painted (something I should have done with my orks... but now I have over 300 of them unpainted... sigh). C&C please!
Oh and by the way, I decided to switch my original plans that I was going to do with all the banners. Im leaving the BSB banner but all the rest will be normal chaos stuff... Im going to be doing a small unit of converted marauders with a banner like the BSB and a scheme based around it (probably end up being slaanesh). I also have some more fluff for the army which Ill include in the next update
