Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

I want a Honda Element.

I like the suicide doors and the fact that the thing has a hose out rear interior. I go car camping several times a year, and the thing can carry everything I need and then some, and even act as a tent if need be. It's not oversized, so it's parkable in the city. It has seats for long car trips to better car pool to events as well.

Best of all, no-one will ask me to move their bed/mattress/dresser drawers for them, as it's not a pick-up.

I drive a silver 2006 Nissan 350z 6-speed manual transmission, base model. Basically this:

Not having traction control or a LSD reminds me of Steve McQueen's Bullitt Mustang since they're also both RWD performance machines. One of these days I'll put a LSD on her but she's fine as is for a fun daily driver.

Once the 350Z gets to the point where its wheels fall off I'm going to look into something with a little more practicality but not too much more. Something like a Mustang GT. If I do very well financially a Corvette wouldn't be bad either and if I do even better then that I'd go for a Nissan GTR. Damn now I'm daydreaming again.

My pops has one of those, and it is a pretty decent vehicle if you can get past it's shortcomings.

Main problems:

- Top heavy, takes side-wind like a brick wall. I was almost pushed into another lane when the wind was pushing me around one time. This was on a low bridge, so that amount of wind was to be expected.

- Terrible rear view. The back of the vehicle is simply poorly designed, I cannot turn around to see gak. My view is directly blocked on the drivers side, so I have to guess if there is someone there when merging; simply no way around it. That is a huge design flaw...

- Even though the modular seats in the back are nifty, quite frankly, they are a pain to use. Once you get the hang of it, it's not so bad, but at first it is just more insufficient design.

There are a few other very minor issues, and the only really serious problem is the drivers field of vision.

I'd a '93 nissan micra with automatic transmission. Loved it. Small and easy to park/negotiate our narrow roads and cheap on petrol. When I can afford another car I'll pick up something similar I reckon. Don't see the need for anything bigger since I don't have kids.

I've got an '87 Mazda B2000 pickup, 5-speed manual.

Only seats two, but I'm superthrifty and so never have to pay for a hotel when traveling because I've got a camper shell over the truck shell and thus can sleep in back.

Gets nearly 30MPG since I coast all the time and never go above 55mph on the freeway - don't worry, I stay in the right lane so as not to piss everyone off.

Only problems are that it climbs somewhat poorly (I've got a friend who lives up in the mountains, somewhat difficult to get up there), and takes something like 10 seconds to start on cold days.

But, overall, I like it. When do I change cars somewhere down the line I want something similar, but hopefully 6-speed manual. I always upshift as soon as possible (I find the slowest I can do in 5th on a straight road is 28mph, so that's where I always go into 5th - it'd be nice to have something higher so I don't stay in one gear from 28-55).

I’ve never been much of a car person, but a couple of years or so of watching Top Gear has a tendency to change that. Last year I got a used Saab 9-5, and I’m quite enjoying it.

If I could have anything, I’d like one of those new Tesla Roadsters.

No, only borrowed for a short time.

While I appreciated the driving experience in those cars (can't even tell what they were
off the top of my head that's how little I paid attention) it wasn't enough to trigger
the car lust.

For me the best car in the world is the one I don't have to drive so I can focus on
other things, like reading, napping, or listening to the radio. My book MP3 player has
a faulty connector, so I can't use it in the car. If National Public Radio ever disappeared
my driving days would be sad.

Oh yeah, and if I had a driver I'd want Grey Poupon in the car. Just in case.
