Is the new Nid battleforce worth buying as someone just starting out with Nids? It seems like it's an okay deal as it has two $25 boxes, a $30 box, and a $35 box in a $105 set.

The old battleforce box was amazing. This one...not so much.

Does it have to be an either/or proposition? A couple of each and a Hive Tyrant and your core army is done.

I'd go for it as it saves you some money,
the models are useful anyway.

The deal is not as good as it was, however it depends on what you need. If you are planning to use all that is in the new battleforce than it is still a deal, but if there is one unit, say genestealers for example that you do not need or want than it no longer is a deal and you would be better buying separately. Unfortunate for a battleforce considering the previous deal was so good.

The battleforce contains only troops which is no good.
The old battleforce was the best as it had a HQ ,a heavy support and plenty of troops.I would regret buying the new one.

I'll probably buy one. I have 16 termas/16 hormas/16 stealers/15 warriors so one box will bring me up to 32 of each troop type and 18 warriors.

No, but all the other Troop choices are suddenly and astoundingly worth taking. From what I've seen and heard, Stealers are basically unchanged except that Broodlords are now a squad upgrade with a reduced cost.

On the subject, I think the new Battleforce is a good deal. It provides a great core for your army, which is the point of a Battleforce.

Whether or not the new battle force is a good deal is all a matter of perspective, if you are a new player starting out a Nid army the new BF is a better deal because you get a good number of troops, as oppossed to the old one where you DID NOT get enough gaunts, even if you made them all spine gaunts that was 16 spine gaunts, not very helpful, as oppossed to the new box where you are getting 12 of each gaunt, with the purchase of one of each gaunt box at this point you have a decent sized unit rather then needing to buy 2+ boxes of the old gaunts +BF. Sure you loose the Carnifex from the Box, however IMO a new bid player doesn't really need a fex as much as they need more troops. For an existing Nid player looking to expand an Army yes the older box was better, even with the new codex
