As reported by Tabletop Gaming News

An unconfirmed posting on the Dragon Painting message board seems to indicate that Jean Bey has left Rackham.

Hi my Friends,

After several months of silence, it is time for me to give you some news: as of yesterday, I’m officially and definitively no longer part of the company.

I want to say thank you to all of you, for all your support, your confidence and your passion for CONFRONTATION and AT-43 all these years, and for some of you for more than 10 years! I have really liked being on board with you, meeting some of you each year at conventions, sharing with you every day all this passion for the CONFRONTATION and AT-43 minis lines and gaming universes.

CONFRONTATION has definitively changed the face of the 30mm miniatures industry and the way of playing a miniatures game forever by becoming a standard. Nothing would happen without you and as the creator of the game and the miniatures lines, I want to personally say that you have been the best supporters a creator can have. You are great!

See you soon again!

Thanks for all guys.

Jean.

A little anticlimactic, but could point to him doing something new miniatures/games-wise...

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

Rackham was reorganized, it's not Rackham Entertainment, I believe. I hope Jean has success with whatever gaming company is lucky enough to have him for an employee, or if he starts his own.

Will be an interesting time for AT-43 and Confrontation....looks like the rumours about "end of the world" (Rackham wise) might be true! :(

Actually, this is why I no longer go to the AT-43 or C:AoR boards. While I enjoy both games immensely, my activism had far more to do with Jean Bey's personal qualities than any great desire to be affiliated with a gaming company. Jean is just out and out a great guy and I was always happy to help him out. As RE has moved him out of the picture, I have been happy to slip away as well.

Yeah, that bait and switch he helped pull off with "C3" and Ragnarok 2" was fantastic.

Still, looks like karma got him in the end!

Maybe now the new Rackham Entertainment will finally become the toy company that they want to become?

By the looks of the latest AT-43 products, I'd say you're spot on.

Actually, i completely disagree. I think the PPP stuff is awesome, and I own tons of it. The "bait and switch" was in the heads of people who didn't like where the company went. I'm pretty sure the gestapo didn't come and take your old metal figures or the old skirmish rules from you, so there's no reason that people can't keep playing it that way if they liked it.

On the other hand, I don't like how uncommunicative the new Rackham i without Jean. They really need to work on being as open as he was.

Uh, just so we're clear the new Rackham Entertainment has said itself (allegedly?) that it wants to become a toy company.

The rumor being that's what they thought they were getting when they purchased the old Rackham.

So, either they were somewhat confused, or that's what they think of the companies offerings.

Or, I suppose, both!

Rackham will not become a toy company, its almost impossible, especially given the track record of the current investors.....starting a toy company takes time and patience, and a hell of a lot of devotion! Skills that in all cases the current buyers seem to be without. To turn an exclusive miniatures company into a main stream toy manufacturer is unthinkable!!!....I'm going to go out on a limb, and say its never gonna happen!

Now that Mr. Bey has gone, I can only imagine one outcome for Rackham......it involves turning the lights out as the last worker leaves the office!

Man down, Man down....

For me to make any sort of educated decisions, or have an opinion on this company, I need to know more about it.

For one, the bills have been taken over by venture capitalists- Entrepenur Ventures. AND that they realigned the company to Rackham Entertainment.

The only name I find is Lucas Velimirovic, who seems to be the CEO, or company head now.

Where is this companies investment information located?
Where is Entrepenur Ventures located, and where is thier Stock exchange info at?
Who else is involved in this Entrepenur Ventures company, that would know anything about game companies, entertainment, or art?

Other then a few news releases, there seems to be little if no information of the inner workings of this company, which tends to tell me one or two things. Either someone is setting this company up for a dummy corperation, to be used for later products, services, etc. Or someone is realigning this company for further actions, either way, there isn't enough to really say one way or the other, aside from crap like a "Friend of a friend told me..", "One year at band camp...", or " I heard it from..."

OK. What exactly, aside from what info in the press release is there?

Who is holding this companies purse strings?

What other endevors is Entrepenur Ventures in?

What information is available about Lucas Velimirovic?

Get this information, you can make a better decision, figure out thier next move, and decide for yourself if AT43 has a real future, or if someone is using the AT43/Confrontation community for an easy buck, franc, or Euro.
