so before i introduce my armies i'd like to say that i play against orks, nids/chaos space marines, occasionally IG, and the smurfz.
another thing is that each of these people(excluding the IG player) are getting me some daemon stuff for christmas, and i am getting them each something. My question is what should ask for? and second of all what should i get for each of them? The ork player wants deff dreads and killa kans, the nids/csm player wants more nids but wont let me buy anything until the new codex comes out. and the smurf player wants either assault termies, rhino/razorback, or sternguard.
anyway on to the lists(also one last thing i proxy my friends CSM stuff as daemons because i have no units yet. Im waiting on what they get me( i asked for basically whats on these 2 lists)

most vehicles i go against could be taken down from the heralds, soulgrinders, or crushers.

How about this instead:
Herald of Slaanesh 125
Chariot, musk, pavane, might, daemonic gaze.
WS5 BS3 S4 T4 W5 I7 A6 LD10 4+/5++
Moves as cav.
Has FC.
Hit and run.
Granted its only S4/5, but throwing out 7 rending attacks on the charge isnt bad
Also, the movement mixed with pavane means you can set up and run charges instead.
also gives you an element of shooting to thin a unit before assaulting it.

Those Killa Kans are AV11, your Khorne heralds need sixes to penetrate (5 on the charge), same for the Bloodcrushers. The Slaanesh heralds need sixes for rending, and then 2s out of the rending D3.
Deff Dreads are AV12, you can only glance those with Khorne, and a 6+3 pen needed for the Slaanesh heralds.
I think a Deff Dread/Killa Kan army will be a problem?

The mech ork army might be a problem, if he had the units. However as it is now his armies usually consist of prophet of the waaagh, mega nobs (both in a battle wagon with red paint job as well as some other things) with some nob bikers and footslogging ork boys. If he doesnt use waagh guy he uses wazdakka. The nid player is nidzilla, and the space marine player uses infantry until his rhino's come in (and his only armor at the moment is dreadnoughts). The IG guy uses alot of banewolves, as well as other irritating pieces of metal.
lastly i wasnt much of a fan of slaanesh because of the low S and T it just doesnt seem worthwhile against all the T4 and 5 running around.

Just a quick point mate, but do a search in Panic! 's batreps.
Him and arbitorIan play alot, and the pure slaanesh daemon army comes out very often.
In the new one they win against a plague marine army (usual oblitz, vindi and plagues) pretty easily.
With slaanesh its a case of dropping into a safe zone, then use the quick movement to do whats needed.
5 Fiends of slaanesh: 1 with might - 160 points.
From that unit you get beast movement.
On the charge you get 24 S5 rending attacks and 6 S5 rending attacks.
they may only be T4, but thier movement allows them to get where they need to be.
Not going to say they arent fragile, because they are.
But certain aspects of slaanesh daemons really do show up other units.
The fiends could even go hunting armour for you.
14 highest damage against a vehicle, 15 for the one with might.
It means hunting 10-12 isnt a problem for them, and they are consistant with it too.
Due to the large amount of attacks, you will get the job done.
Allthough, against bikernobz the crushers win every time lol.

I'd take out 1 unit of flamers, but upgrade the remaining unit to 5.
Thats 35 points saved.
also, i would take out the hounds.
They really are bad at what they do, and for the points, they just arent worth it (cant negate saves for one)
Thats 260 points to play with.
6 Fiends: Might - 190
4 Screamers of tzeentch - 64
That leaves you with 6 points left over (throw instrument on a letters unit)
This way you have the fiends for fast movement and anti-armour.
They can also handle themselves in large fights.
Due to a great "I" they will pretty much allways go 1st, meaning that anything you do assault should be dead anyway.
The 4 screamers dont seem like much, but the jetbike movement and meltabombs they have are amazing for tanks.
I usually run 2 units of 5 (i allways take more anti-tank than i need)
Other than anti-tank they dont have much use, except counter charges in small fights, and attacking small weak units (jetbikes without a warlock)
If they are still alive in a KP mission after killing the armour then hide them away.

well...that works lol i've used fiends before. they took out an entire group of tyranid warriors( about 5 or 6) in about 2 turns with only a loss of 2. however i got lucky on my rolls
either way i'll be changing my army. Automatically Appended Next Post: my problem is usually my positioning. i mean i have no idea how to strategize what so ever >.> other than make sure slaanesh is in the back and plaguebearers stay on an objective. and keep soulgrindersin the back shooting and assualting when needed. other than that im sorta...a noob

Working out combat between the unit of fiends (with no upgrades) and 30 ork boyz:
fiends get 36 attacks on the charge.
18 hits.
12 wounds. (3 are rending wounds)
10.6 dead ork boyz.
19 boyz hit back with 38 attacks.
hit with 19 of them.
wound with 7 of them
4.7 wounds caused.
The fiends easily win the combat, and thats not including if one is upgraded with might. Automatically Appended Next Post: Possition is easy mate.
Drop them close to cover, then use thier run/fleet move to get into cover. (since you cant assault the turn they show up)
Next turn your free to move and assault as normal.
You can move them 6" in movement.
Fleet 1"-6" in the shooting phase.
Then assault 12" in assault phase.
Thats 19"-24" in 1 turn.
Meaning they can easily get into possition and assault into combat the turn after they arrive.

Slaanesh daemons may be fragile, but its thier high initiative and fast movement that makes up for it
