hi dakka, now i was wondering with manoverability being a major thing in WHFB i thought to myself wether an all mounted WoC army would work with 4 units of knights, maruder horsemen with throwing axes and a bucket load of dogs but would it work in tornaments??

You could not pack 4 knight units there i think. What points are we talking about? If 2250 then you go about 250-300 for each knight units thats about 1100. 4 Units of marauders horsemen is about 350. Thats 1450. Ten (yes ten!!!) units of dogs are 300. Thats 1750. Lord is about 300 thats 2050. Sorcerers + some scrolls for leftover points. It may fit actually but its wierd. I think you need some chariot... or hellcannon or pair of shaggots. To give some proper advice i need to know how many points are we talking about. Knights are good but you dont need to fill all avanible slots with them first i think.

Mud company 2000 pts.
Colonel Hermann Winter's Armoured fist 1500 pts.
Armored battlegroup 1750 pts.
Death korps of Krieg 4000 pts.
FoW germans 5000 pts.
BFG Imperial fleet 2500 pts.
Necromunda gang 2500 credits
Easterlings and Harad LotR 1300 pts.

It's certainly been speculated at, but I don't think so.

Shooting plays a huge factor into it, mainly. Small units are ripe for being ripped apart, and cavalry are no exception.

Deadly in Theoryhammer, but not so much in-game.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

Rifles will make real mess. Same with elf fast throwers.

Very viable. Shooting isn't that scary- the dogs and Slaanesh horsemen make good screens. And they will get 1-2 turns max before you tear into the line. Mark of nurgle is also helpful to reduce shooting effectiveness. Just watch bolt throwers and cannons- do not give them a flank shot!

Big fliers and undead are a bigger problem. Dragons and the like are faster than you and can eat up units while undead can tarpit you and grind you down with CR.

It's a list that needs some skill to run, but can do well. I suggest 3 sorcs for magic defense. Take lore of Nurgle to snipe, Tzeentch on disc for hunting, and/or fire for Sword and to tag regenerators. You could also try a dragon lord if playing a big game.
