Hey, that'd be my all-comers WoC army, please let me know of any flaws and methods to optimize the list.

(I'm playing with the ETC rules, with a slight variation in the PD/DD limit, which in that case is max.12PD/8DD)



EDIT: made some changes to the list - removed a unit of warhounds due to ETC restrictions, gave all Horsemen LA, reduced Marauder block to x20, gave Lvl4 Sword of Might, made Exalted a BSB and gave him FotG. 2249pts. total now.

You can only have one of each magic item in your list with the exception of stones and scrolls. I would drop the Banner of Rage and MoN from the second unit and go with MoS or MoK (if you want Frenzy) and the Rapturous Standard. This should give you some additional support in combat. Also you can drop the second units of knights for a Giant with the MoS and a Spawn.

Fixed the illegal banner and marauder horsemen gear. Still wondering wether to keep the knights 6-wide with so much screening. I've chosen MoK since itp. is nice, but since they can't fell, I coul've just get rid of the musician on both units, LA on horsemen and with the saved pts. I should be able to afford a unmarked spawn.
Any other suggestions?

What's the plan for the flying Exalted? Seems like a magic missile or two headed his direction could end poorly.

Not too keen on Infernal Puppet, 45 points for +1 to cast isn't really that great.

Also not keen on the Lord/w Conjoined Homunculus. Sure, he probably won't fail his Ld check, but that chance of stupidity is too much, IMHO.

After that, looks ok. I haven't expierienced all-cav WoC before, but from what I've heard, they're only decent, so grats on getting far with 'em.

The Infernal Puppet isn't that item. I've found it to be golden, though I did have a game that had over 10 miscasts (both sides) throughout the whole game.

Works well if you get Pandemonium off too.

I've seen this list run before, with the only exception being the Maruader Horsemen with flails having the MoK on them. Really makes them pretty nasty, considering thats 10 attacks from the maurauders and 10 from the horses. Just makes them a bit hard to control as far as the frenzy, but at least their ItP while frenzied. The Lord and other casters go for Gateway and Buboes, while zipping around to either march block or stay out of trouble.
It works, although shooty armies will give you alot of trouble - Gateway armies are so unpredictable and dependent on the magic phase that they really aren't for me, especially considering that 2 armies (Lizards and Dark Elves) are so set up to counter them with Becalming from the Slann and Ring of Hotek item for Dark Elves. 2 units of knights generally won't carry the day, especially if they get slowed down or lose a man or two to shooting/magic going across the board.

So, I have potential to free up to 157 pts. (removing one unit of horsemen, a single marauder on foot, unit of warhounds and some minor tweaks), any ideas on how to utilize them?
I am now certain I don't want a spawn in such a fast list and ETC rules forbid me from taking Scylla. I also have unsufficient point budget to take a unit of dragon ogres, suggestions?

First thing I would have suggest was a couple of Spawn!

But since you don't want those, a Chariot with a Mark would fit the points, and maybe making the Exalted a BSB.

Still - you seem to have missed the very reason I didn't want a spawn - speed.
Both chariot and spawn are great choices, provided the army is mainly infantry. If I had an infantry heavy army I wouldn't hesistate a second and would take a spawn.

What I'm trying to say is - some great choices might not work very well with an all-cav./most-cav. list due to being left behind and not having much impact on the course of battle. You could say that was the sole reason of this whole thread

Chariots can still charge the long distance, though they are slower. They can work for protracted combats your knights get in, or to make a charge after a baited flee.

The reason for Spawn is mainly for early game protection against scouts. If you deploy them facing all backwards and along your flanks so you don't face scouts in your back like you might otherwise do.

One thing that could be done, is dropping a knight from each unit (80 points), and then with your remaining points add another 3 knights and some command to make another unit of knights (unless there are restrictions on 3xKnights?)

Yup, max. 2 of the same special choice, also Knights are likely to be shot at before engaging, so 6-wide units are the solution to bringing at least 5 of them to the enemy turn 2-3.

I would have to say that it's just about the perfect WoC list. You've got the right casters, got the flying BSB (I'm used to seeing him with the book, but then he'd have to zip around with only a 5+ ward from talisman or something, which may or may not be advisable), got all the slaanesh core you could want, the right number of hound units and two incredibly uber frenzied knight units. There are points to be cut if you really wanted them - sword of might on the lvl 4, the warbanner/standard on the khorne knights - but I can't think of anything that would work better than those upgrades at the moment, so meh. SoM could certainly come in handy, and the extra CR will help ensure destruction of even nasty nasty things.

Personally, I wouldn't run the list - perfection is boring - but you've done a rocking job. Good luck in your tournies and stuff!

EDIT:

Had a thought, what about dropping the sword of might to make the khorne knights' banner blasted (+ biting blade on lvl 4) or wraith? They don't really need the warbanner, but blasted will make both knight units unattractive to fire at, and wrath will simply boost that magic phase even more (though bounds probably count as 1 PD under ETC, so nevermind in that case).

It's always good to know that one has a solid list.
Now I know that I can simply remove some knights in favour of i.e. a giant, re-equip the marauders or simply add some hellcannon madness for the friendly games etc.

Edit: and yes, my PD pool is maxed atm
