So my buddy was testing some of his weathering tricks out on my BA vehicles, and they are much more difficult to get going then on an IG tank.

Any tips for using smoke, weathering powders, or other weathering things for red vehicles?

Thanks!

Gathering the Informations.

What weathering tricks was your buddy actually using?

Because honestly, they should be working well just the same unless he's doing something completely out there or actually using a red as the basis for the mud.

Are you looking for rust, oil stains or battle damage?

For rust I use a base coat of Scorch brown, stippling of Dark Flesh, a light stippling of Blazing Orange and a very light stippling of Bolt Gun Metal. After that I dry brush Blood Red over the middle of the panel. Here is a copy of pictures from an earlier post of how I did my rust weathering.

For oil I just use GW Badab Black wash to stain the area I want weathered.

basically smoke and weathering powders were being used

THanks for that info on the panels, doing the red last is an interesting idea.
