At the UK GD last year i as lucky enough to pick up a FW Valkyrie for £25.00! I joked at the time that for that price I should have brought more......
Ever since I brought it home I have had nothing but bad luck with it.
One of the tail booms refused to straighten even with pressure and warm water.
Most of the lugs were indistinguishable from flash.
In trying to pin the wings I have managed to stick wire through the cuticles and into the meat of my right index and middle fingers.
when I glued and pinned the wings in place on the booms my cats came along and knocked the assembly off the table onto the floor
When painted and assembled I moved it to a more secure location, It fell to its death.
Fixed and touched up I moved it again this time it snaked on my hoodie and fell, literally exploding. On a clear floor with no cracks and crevices I am yet to find all the parts of the tail.
It now sits waiting on my shelf to be fixed again. I cant bear to go near it! even though I have a new paint scheme devised and a call sign 'Unlucky 013'.
Is this as unlucky as it gets or am I quite fortunate that nothing major has happened?

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

Actually, that's not a bad shout - you could turn it into a crash-site terrain piece.

Ohh I like that idea...
Or maybe I will savage it for parts. I dunno I just want to finish it, seems a waste of resin some how (curse its siren call!).

I have a Warboss with something similar,... I could not do a decent paint job on him, no matter how I tried.
He always got owned by the third turn!
If you use the parts (of the valkry) for other minis they might become unlucky (call me gullible...)!,
and if you make it into terrain it might lose you a good winning scrap!,
but look on the bright side, it adds to the comedy, you will have a good laugh!

You're unlucky- I've got a FW resin Vulture and Valkyrie and haven't had any major problems.
The problem now though is that the joins will be incredibly weak due to repeated breakages.
Turn it into terrain- crash it into a building or something for a memorable terrain piece. You can say it got shot down before the battle if you paint it in your army colours.

I have a full resin and a hybrid Vulture. The full resin is an outright bitch to build. The hybrid was okay. Though I had a first batch with the latter.
