Ok so my Major just came in and told us all to go make sure we vote today, before all of this I have recieved emails from friends and family in other parts of the country telling me I must go vote(and who for mind you). Though the funny thing is I just became a Mass resident fully and can not register for another 60 days. I am just enamoured that this senate seat is being hailed as so pivital for the republican party here in the states. Though I am not going to say who I am hoping for I find it so interesting that I even found it all over CNN and that people everywhere(literally) are telling me I have to go vote because of the importance o f this election. For those of younot familiar with American politics this election would give the republicans if they won 41 out of 100 seats in the senate. This would enable them to get enough votes to stop a lot of the presidents petitions to the senate I.E healthcare.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

There's already video making its way around of someone handing out absentee ballots to people (thats illegal if no one gets that). I have faith that the political machine will pull it out at the end.

I know you're being funny but being registered does not mean you vote. Death does not take you off the voter registration right away.

The best part is is that the Dems are doing a fine job of stopping themselves, this election will hardly change things lol.
Good old homestate though . If only the Republican's didn't endorse the Bulgers, the Dems wouldn't stand a chance in modern times.

ya you don't know mass voting but good try. Death just means you go back on the voters registration.

Sadly it seems Brown is the winner. He seems like a nice guy and all but I honestly couldn't vote for him knowing the policies and bills that he'll likely support.
And if you'll allow me a moment of valid bitterness, God forbid America joins the rest of the industrialized world and provides nationalized healthcare for its citizens. Why millions upon millions might be properly cared for! Can't have that...
Alas, here's hoping that I'll be pleasantly surprised, and if not 2012 isn't so far off.

Best news I've heard all night.
Might get this pork barrel thrown into the trash now.
Health care reform done right wouldn't be bad (though I'm still not keen on even more Federal Government nosiness and telling me how to run my life) but this Bill wasn't it.
Even the Obama administration had to chop at it and hack at it quite a bit just to get it to MARGINALLY pass.

--The whole concept of government granted and government regulated 'permits' and the accompanying government mandate for government approved firearms 'training' prior to being blessed by government with the privilege to carry arms in a government approved and regulated manner, flies directly in the face of the fundamental right to keep and bear arms.

Why does a party with 41 out of 100 have as much power as a party with 59 out of 100 votes? Why does a party with 40 votes have absoluately no power?
How can a party with filibuster proof majorities in both houses and who holds the presidency fail to get its healthcare reform passed in a year?
There are the mysteries of the US, my friend.

Yeah, the bill they're batting bat and forth in Congress won't actually give you Canada or the UK's health system. It's a trainwreck of crap that even supporters of nationalized healthcare should hope dies. Only the U.S. Congress could think that the solution to health care's issues is just to make it illegal to not have health insurance.

If the bill had actually copied Canadian (not UK I've heard horror stories) with no pork, then I would have been much more nuetral on it. Take the Canadian model and tweek it, learning what Canada has learned then move forward. What this bill is aint that!

I don't know if I'd go that far, but a Republican being elected to Teddy K's senate seat in the bluest state in the Union? It should at the very least give the Dem's some serious pause.
