So, as many of you might have come across, a whole butt load of people play Cadian Imperial Guard. If Vostroyan's were plastic, I wouldn't be here. As they aren't, I'm asking the community for some ideas to start working on how I want my Cadian's to look. Here is my inspiration piece:

As some of you may recognise, this is box art from Modern Warfare 2. I'm not a very talented modeller, but I want to give this a go to challenge myself, no matter how long it takes to get on the board, I want my little guys to look good.

Initial ideas are to tackle the helmet first, Green stuffing the mouth piece, goggles and possibly the helmet attachment for night vision (or at least that's what I think it is). Does anyone have any suggestions otherwise? Or for the body maybe? Has anyone tried anything like this before? Base miniatures are bog standard Cadian troops.

Thanks in advance everyone.

Gathering the Informations.

Yeah.

It's not going to work with Cadians. The models are just too bulky to give that kind of look.

You'd want Elysians for that kind of body to start off of.

By the by, I'm not trying to be rude or mean. I'm speaking from experience.

I tried it awhile back, and it just ends up looking like a cartoonist's impression of soldiers.

You could do it with some green stuff and some practice, i did a sketch of how it could be done below:

for all these extra components you would need to sculpt the whole lot, you could make a small specialist/veteran unit like this but it would take ages to make a whole army. you could use thin 0.5mm plasticard for the straps to save time.

and you coudl use the machine guns from the necromunda weapon sprues: Give it a go

I think you need to look a getting alot of the carbine las guns from the armor kits. Then you can get some pig iron heads. But you basic Cadian is nigh impossible to do much with unless you are good with Green Stuff. The best way to make them look like vets is with a good paint job or a great base. I will post a picture of my favorate cadian I did to give you an example when the batteries recharge in my camera.
