im playing in a tournament soon, using my WoC army, and ill be facing a wood elf dryad spam list (everything is dryads or tree spirits), and a lizardmen sarus spam list. just wondering what would be a good list and tatics to use against such armys,as the last time i played them i got absoultly spanked. tounament is 2250 pts, and i have the following models avalable:
archeon / lord-hero on daemonic mount, jugger lord, 2 sorcerers, giant, 10 hounds, 40 maruders, 30 warriors. im planning on picking up some more models before the tourney, so id like some suggestions on a list... heres my inital vanilla list as a starting point...pls feel free to critique.

lvl 4 sorcerer lord with Mot, DoT, blood of tzeentch, power familiar
lvl 2 sorcerer with dispel scroll
exalted w/Mok, JoK, bronze armor, sword of battle
exalted w/ daemonic mount, sword of might
2x 15 maruders w/light armor, shields, flails full cmnd
15 WoC w/shields full cmnd
2x 5 warhounds
giant w/ MoS
2x knights w/ champion standard.

Go with more warriors. WoC match up well against both Dryads and Sarus.

Strip the Marauder unit to 10 figures with just flails, MOS and maybe a Musician. makes the unit cheap as dirt, but is still a threat to flank charge with 5 st5 attacks.

The list needs to pick up a bit of speed. The WE are never going to be where you want them & the Lizards will have skinks, salamanders, those damn flyers. one or more units of Marauder horsemen with flails or throwing axes will be useful. Spawn can also be useful to guard the flanks.

Using what you said you have here is what I come up with:

LORDS AND HEROES: 985
Sorcerer Lord; 400
- Magic level, MoT, Disc, Enchanted Shield, Book of Secrets, Golden Eye, Power Familiar
Sorcerer; 175
- Magic level, Infernal Puppet, MoN
Sorcerer; 155
- (2)Dispel Scroll, MoN
Exalted; 255
- Roar, Favour, Sword of Might, Shield, MoK, Juggernaught, BSB

CORE: 970
18 Marauders; 120
- Flails, Command, MoS
18 Marauders; 120
- Flails, Command, MoS
15 Warriors; 250
- Shields, Command, MoS
15 Warriors; 250
- Shields, Command, MoS
5 Horsemen; 85
- Flails, Musician, MoS
5 Horsemen; 85
- Flails, Musician, MoS
5 Hounds; 30
5 Hounds; 30

SPECIAL: 295
5 Knights; 295
- Musician, Standard, Banner of Rage, MoN

TOTAL: 2250

Lord flies around with a decent armor save and makes people sad. The puppet sorc is going to be nice to have for magic (especially against a magic heavy Lizardmen army). Exalted can go in a unit (or not) for his BSB-ness. MoS on freaking everything because you will no doubt have to deal with a lot of Fear/Terror facing these two armies, so why not just...not? I am not a fan of giants, but I am sure that you could drop the Knights if you wanted to get him back.

The only things you would need are Knights and Marauder Horsemen to have the force, not bad, I guess.

Here's my shot at that list you posted, trying to stick pretty close to your original plan:

L: Sorcerer Lord - MoT, golden eye, infernal puppet, level 4, disc = 370
H: Sorcerer - book of secrets, dispel scroll, level 2 = 170
H: Exalted - MoK, sword of might, bronze armor, favor, shield, jugger = 220
H: Exalted - biting blade, shield, demonic mount = 170

C: 15 Warriors - MoS, rapturous standard, full command, shields = 300
C: 5 Horsemen - MoS, musician, flails, light armor = 96
C: 10 Marauders - MoS, musician, flails = 64
C: 10 Marauders - MoS, musician, flails = 64
C: 5 Warhounds = 30
C: 5 Warhounds = 30

S: 5 Knights - MoK, musician = 240
S: 5 Knights - standard, musician = 230

R: Giant - MoS = 265
-------
2249

It uses all the models you posted except for 10 marauders, and requires you to invest in a sexy new horsemen box.

LEVEL 4 > Better protection (3/3+ save vs ranged), and the puppet so he can keep his own 5-dice miscasts in line while messing with the other dude.

LEVEL 2 > Kept him unmarked so you can take fire magic vs the trees, and check this: with the book, he can actually take 2x fireballs And then he gets the +1PD like the power familiar anyway. Lord's puppet hopefully keeps him from blowing his own face off.

JUGGER > Shield for 0+ save, and sword of might because this guy already has enough attaks, when the S6 will hurt big things more. He's got favor because I know I'd bet on him vs treemen and such.

DEMOHORSE > There to make the unmarked knights a little more hitty. Simple kit on him, with a biting blade to deny treemonic things their ward save. Could solo vs dryads.

WARRIORS > Slaanesh, and rapturous to lock down vs anything that beat them, ensuring you get to flank next turn.

MARAUDERS > As posted, I say keep these flankers / baiters / light combat too. Slaanesh for Ld antics.

HORSEMEN > I agree, you could use more reach + speed to tag woodies. These guys are pretty staple light cav.

WARHOUNDS > Nice

KNIGHTS > Half of them are crazy because the jugger they're escorting is crazy too, so why not? That unit is horrific and will kill probably anything that it's allowed to touch. The other unit is more tame, and escorts the demo-exalted. Still a hammer and tough, but not as cracked out as the frenzied ones.

GIANT > I say keep him! And convert him awesome!

thanks for the help...ill give both lists a shot with some buddies and post back on the results... niether plays woodelves or lizards, but the list seems solid enough to deal with just about anything as is anyway.... reason im concerned about the lizards/elves is 2 people who frequent tourneys (and are absoulte tards) min/max these races and do the whole "i have 8 tree singing casts per turn, with dryad/treeman spam...and oh yea drycha too"
