Not where I should be

Thank you all guys.

@ Theo, Thanks bud, no kids, commission work needs to be me. Though Shinagami-Ren may give me a hand occasionally. The foam is one of many different materials, and some times it is the tools, I got a foam cutter, so can do straight mortar lines easy.
@ Gits, Thanks bud.
@ Dave, Thanks and yeah I am fond of the little guys. And yup see below.
@ Boundless08, Thanks bud, and both in real life and in model form, what did you want?
@ Vik, Thank you sir, much appreciated, scale is difficult, these buildings are a bit small probably, done for game play of AoS, so big enough but not too big or there is no room for all your movement trays. At least one of these buildings will be super scale, will get into it when I get there. One of the biggest difficulties is ceiling hieght, This is 2" (50mm) and looks about right for a 28mm man, but if you wanted to cater for larger models or some dramatic poses you will have to rais the ceiling to 3" (75mm) which is OK and seems to be a standard in terrain manufacture, but is unrealistic, that would equate to something like a 18' (5.5m) ceiling. More later.
@ Sir Donlad, Thank you sir, I agree except for 2 points, first the floor would be unplayable, and second its been a while so the wood etc from the roof has been used by various adventurers in that stove. At least that's my story and I am sticking to it for now.

Thank you all so much for the wonderful feedback, not calling it finished as I will revisit it once I have all the buildings together to tie them all in. But for now here are some nice-ish pics to look at fully zoomable.

Thanks for looking and as always feel free to critique.

That scale discussion is a constant murmuring inside my brain and can often lead to total hesitation to work on a piece...

Looks really good, but if I could suggest a thing...the moss on the roof looks way too cheery...a wash of devlan mud or just plain brown wash would tone it down... other than that, the inside shots really make me wish I could play therein...you're truly the scratchbuilding master!!!

Amazing work, as usual, leaves me without much to add besides that!

The woodworks specially, almost sorry you covered most of the roof structure, burnt and stained beams turned out great.

As for the moss, agreeing with Vik there, could probably gain from a bit of tan washing.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away...

I'm with LT - those rafters for the roof were gorgeous - almost criminal to cover it all up Having said that, the end result is just as good

Would to see you do some burnt out timber frames, would be very cool for Mordheim or Frostgrave type terrain

Thank you all.

Noted on the moss and will do. Thanks for the great comments.

Tonight I had a brain fart.....

Took a bunch of cogs and a battery operated coffee stirrer....

Made a gear box and wiring , mounted it all...

And it fits in the base of the windmill....

So the Windy Miller, will have turning sails.

Thanks for looking.

More amazing buildings! I LOVE the hut, what did you stain the floor with? and how on earth did you manage to get the old iron stove to look like an old iron stove so well? i'm at a loss how you can make some super realistic decorated models! the roof was brilliant with the ruined beams and allows you to look inside for gaming and display! clever man you! :-)

I'm lovely your Trumpton brain fart looking excellent indeed. As for the other house, sorry for not commenting before: love it, green on the roof looks a little bright maybe? Love the details, especially the shrooms.

That makes sense, and the moss contextualizes it nicely. Its a beauty of a terrain peice!!
So you get creative bursts when having a 'brain fart', huh? no wonder you keep coming up with amazing stuff!

I have a good feeling about your windmill!

Could you work in a 'creaking unit'? - a bit of the mechanism that performs a repetitive action to produce a 'creak' sound in time with the rotation of the sails?

Keep at it Mr Cam', man..

Not where I should be

Thank you all so much for the comments, really appreciate it.

I will reply properly, but bit tired, been a mad few days IRL, so not had much modelling time. Did get a little done.

Windmill is moving along....

Still got a lot to do, but taken a bit more time than I really wanted to sort the mechanics, but yes in the end the sails turn at a nice sedate pace. Got to work on the noise as it makes a but of a whiring at the moment, not the asked for creeking!

Oh and started on another piece for this board, and again experimenting...

So Lets see..
@ Nerdy, Thank you sir, floor stained with home made washes, one is made with Golden Fluid Acrylic Van Dyke Brown, then a black wash over it, then I sanded it, then I varnished it then I washed it with a light grey then I cleaned the surface with Meths, leaving the grey in the corners. Iron stove is usual rusty methods, including adding bi-carbonate of soda as a dusting in between when the paint is wet, gives that slightly gritty look.
@ Vik Thanks bud, at the moment feels a bit much but really not that difficult. My head just a bit fuzzy is all.
@ Graven, yeah going to revisit that roof tone down the green. Thank you.
@ Gits, Thank you bud, cogs is easy...and the stirrer is a useless bit of kit available in various places, I guess it is actually for frothing your millk, but basically it is a small motor with 2 AA batteries and a switch, cost about ÂŁ2, I expanded the wiring and added a proper switch, but thats it, will be motorising a few more items this way I think.
@ Maniac_nmt, Definitely worth a look.
@ Theo, Thanks bud.
@ Mad, Thanks sir.
@ Shas, Thanks bud.
@ Yorkright, I forget the eggs too, just have a few moments is all.
@ DrH, Thanks bud.
@ SirDonlad, Thanks sir, much appreciated.

Well thank you all for looking in and the comments are most welcome, back soon I hope.

Windmill needs snotlings hanging on the sails .

That festering fountain is awesome , slimy yet satisfying.

I really love that fountain. How did you make it? I'm a fan of papa nurgle myself but I think the first picture that's all white is really beautiful. It looks like Eldar wraithbone, really nice flow to the shapes

the fountain is disturbingly realistic! how you´re always achieving this is beyond me...

one hint for the windmill...i think since you are going for a general rotten look i think the sails need t be ripped and torn...this whole build oozes so much memories of frankenstein and other horror movies!!!

@ Red Thank you sir, much appreciated.
@ Boundless08, Thanks bud, will give a tutorial soon on it.
@ Vik thanks sir, please see below, and know what you mean about the memories.

Well Did a bit more to the fountain...

Did a door for the windmill...yes I turned down a cocktail stick for the door knob.

And we are getting somewhere...

So I slapped a bit of paint around...

Yup got the mechanics worked out in the end and the sails turn nicely. Have to work out the whole video malarkey. These are still slightly WIP as I will be revisiting and doing a few embellishments.

Well Thganks for looking and please feel free to comment..

Fantastic work again Cam, fountain looks good and polluted (still needs some Nurglings taking a bath in it). Windmill is a work of beauty, you really pulled off the look of an old broken down building with torn sails and rusted bits.

Bravo sir!
