Are those based on pennies?

That'd be a pretty crazy paintjob if it were. No, they're on 40mm based. The 15mm figures are on pennies though.

I picked up a few Wizkids pre-primed figures over the weekend and just finished painting them up. Probably going to keep the elf, but sell the other two. Click the pics to see bigger versions in the gallery.

Here's a cool looking floaty Grim Reaper monster. He's fairly big. That's a 40mm base he's on.

This guy is supposed to be a Human Ranger. I'm not really seeing what makes him a Ranger. For some reason, he has a hamster in his hand. Though, the sculpt is so soft that it's hard to even tell what he's actually holding. And yes, I tried to match the packages gaudy colors.

The next one is a Lunar Elf Sorceress. I don't know what a Lunar Elf is, but I thought she looked kind of cool. She came packed with the Ranger, oddly enough. Wizkids don't usually mix the species/gender/class in a single blister, but this one did.

Details are kind of soft, as usual with these figure and my pictures do my work no justice. Like, I used a wash on her that you can't even see in the photos. She looks pretty good at tabletop level, and that's what really matters.

Hey look! I'm updating!

Over the weekend, while once again house sitting, I managed to get some painting time in. I'd been wanting some of CMON's Seven Sins figures from The Others since the Kickstarter, but I didn't back the campaign and I didn't much care for the way the game actually played (plus the heroes were kind of lame). Thankfully, Miniature Market had them on super discount a couple weeks ago, so I had to get them while they were cheap. Envy and Wrath didn't do a lot for me, but Lust and Greed? I had to have them.

So... guess what I painted this weekend.

Let's start with the lusty bunch.

First, the Abominations. In both boxes, you get three sculpts, and two of each sculpt.

sexy bunch, aren't they? The star of this set though is the Avatar. I'm a little disappointed in just how small it is, actually. The thing should really be a lot bigger. It'd make an amazing Nurgle Daemon Prince if it were bigger.

And here's the group.

As you can see, the Avatar is only a bit bigger than the Abominations. Now, if you're familiar with these minis, you'll notice there's something missing here. There's the "human" cultist, the Controller. The lighting at my parents' house isn't very good for painting and I didn't have the right colors with me, so unfortunately, he just hasn't been done yet. Hopefully I'll have him done soon. I'm waiting on a replacement chair for my painting table since mine decided to finally fall apart on me last week. once I get that, then I'll tackle the Controller.

How about Greed? Well, I did have the right paints to get all of them, so let's take a look. Let's start with the Controller for them.

Yep. A fat guy with an extra pair of hands and a mouth on his gut.

Here's the Abominations. They're a lot smaller for Greed. They sort of wind up looking like large, hungry Nurglings.

Lastly, we have the boss, the Avatar of Greed. Arms and mouths. No eyes anywhere on the model, but boy are there a lot of teeth.

Again, I wish the Avatars were bigger. This thing should be towering over regular 28mm miniatures, but he's just not that big. He's only on a 40mm base.

Funnily enough I'm in the same boat, except I also missed out on the MM sale, but was able to grab Wrath from the UK for like $12 (free shipping?!). Works for me, and I'm currently prepping that avatar to be a slightly smol Khorne DP. He doesn't seem as bad as yours here - especially not that shorty Lust - but will certainly be standing on a Tactical Bluff for added height

Your crews here painted up well, makes me more excited to work on my angry things. Dig those lil' Abominations most, nice squiggly design.

They really turned out well, especially having seen them in person (despite not actually putting them to use yet).

You're more than welcome to paint mine!

Just don’t put a little greed guy on either side of the avatar unless your trying to summon Slaanesh .

Painting worked out great, I keep missing the sales on these guys too, but since Miniaturemarket is doing sale after sale so far this year I’m sure they’ll show up soon enough.

I have your Wrath Controller. I'd be down for some beasties for him to hang out with.

John Hwang, that was partly why I got Greed. Their monsters are weirdly cute compared to all of the others.

Got a chibi ninja this time. This is Hanzo, I think, from Ninja All Stars. Grabbed him during Miniature Market's sale along with the Others boxes. Got him painted at the same time as them, too.

I love how his sash turned out. Not sure why a ninja needs Geordi LaForge's VISOR, though...unless it was a trophy? Oh no!

Not much to show tonight. I just completed the imaginatively named "PMC Operator 1" from Anvil Industry. This one was released as a special character model alongside their female PMC figures.

I mostly tried to keep her in line with the promo art Anvil Had showing off the character with some other mercenaries. Her eyes are a little wonky, but otherwise, I'm very happy with how she turned out.

I also completed a few more Space Marines for my Raptors chapter. Nothing special, just more of the Primaris Infiltrators. This time, it's the Sergeant, a guy on the vox, and a medic.

It's a little hard to see, but the Sergeant has scars running down the side of his face. The medic I painted while I was house sitting last month. That's why his optics and the center bit on his backpack aren't painted. I'd forgotten to bring those particular colors along. I could finish him up now, but.... I'm lazy.

Your Raptors look good as always.

Are they the guys from Shadowspear?

You should get those flying guys that look like they're from Forgotten Worlds the arcade game.

I'm still undecided if I want to add the checkerboard markings to these guys.

I finished up this handsome fellow tonight.

Dude looks like a troglodyte next to just about any other human figure I own. The Mechanicus surely didn't vat breed this guy for his good looks.

Got a few more figures out today.

The other Servitor from the set. I don't really care for this guy very much. Too busy, and Finecast does not lend iteself well to all of the little cables everywhere.

Got another of the Kalyshi finished.

And got another Spectre Russian done in green.

Nothing too fancy for this update. Just a couple of Traitor Guardsmen I picked up. They'll go along nicely with my menagerie of cultists.

Those are the Blackstone traitors, right? When did you get those? Or did you just modify the crap out of a bunch of guys again?

They turned out well. Maybe we can use yours in lieu of my still to be painted traitors. At this point all I have left are the munchkin halfling twins for the heroes.

Well folks, with the Contrast paints now available, I figured I should probably try and tackle the Tatsu Gigamek from Warzone that I got way back at Christmas. I've been dreading it and putting it off because I just didn't want to paint another large model and the tedium that comes with it. Contrast makes it so much easier though! So, he's finally done. Yes, the colors are simple. I know. I wanted him to go with my Shinsengumi Eldar, and they have black and bone colored gear with blue and white cloth bits. So I had to do it on him, too.

Apologies for the yellow-ness of the photos. 1)My camera is old and kind of crappy. 2)most of the lights in my house seem to be more yellowish.

The Tatsu is a pretty big guy though. I sadly don't have a Wraithknight to compare it to, but I do have Imperial Knights.

So, that should give you a pretty good idea of how big it is. If HIghlord Tamburlaine and I ever play any games that allow large units like that, you better believe I'm going to be bringing it.

In addition to the Tatsu Gigamek, I did paint a couple other figures. I got another Daughter of the Burning Rose completed.

And I randomly painted a Wreck-Age Staker. I don't recall the fluff for the Stakers, but I believe they're basically a bunch of post-apocalyptic homesteaders trying to establish new settlements. This guy happens to have a scythe tied to a shotgun for some reason.

They all look good. I like the Wreckage guy a lot. Did I give you the farm animals or any of the other models I had?

I guess you finishing the Tatsu is what has you jonesing for a Wraithknight now, huh?

Want to take a stab at some of those Prodos constructs? I may have a few more...
