If it's 'Fast Attack' I'd be so down for an 'orginal' Land Speeder with marines perched on tiny seats right in front of the engines. And Jetbikes of course.

He was holding a human / eldar head. When minis get alternate sculpts the alternates often seem inferior to the originals, this was the case for the assassins but it wasn't too bad, I somewhat liked them all and the Eversor was the best one.

I think your right, it was the steel legion LT or SGT that had the ork head wasn't it?

I know they did alt poses for the 4 assassins at the time, the eversor had the head, the vidincare had the tactical rock, the pyschic one was lobbing the grenade and I can't recall the caldus, if it was the running one with her arm sword out or if thatwas the OG one and I can't remember the alt sculpt.

Oh well, I really dig the new FW one. I do hope FA is the next slot they do. People really need assault marines, destroyers, speeders (even though they are Calvary now grumble grumble grumble) and other stuff. I'm glad FW is still doing the resin models as if it was plastic only there would be LONG spaces of no new items that would stall the game even faster then it already is sadly. A lot of the newish people I've seen have bowed out as they don't want to work with resin ( like its a FW game with some GW plastic) and the plastic crack isn't coming fast enough for them. There are some good deals to be had on the secondary market if you hunt around a bit.

That's a Land Speeder. I don't know what a 'Proteus' is.

It's the pre-refinement "modern" 40k landspeeder. Hence Proteus

Yep -

(There was also this female one, but I don't think she was as widely released).

It's a nice homage. Kinda wish they'd retained something like the shoulder pads and/or the clawed feet thing. It's a bit bland as it is (and I'm usually very much a 'less is more' guy when it comes to the amount of detail or 'bling' on a sculpt).

A triple Jetbike or a dual Land Speeder kit would be most welcome. Or a single Jetbike kit with throwback options like a Chaplin or a Medic build included.

I would love a Triaros/Karacnos dual kit in plastic. Given the new importance of the Triaros being the troop carrier for the Mechanicum, I can easily see it being the next plastic release after the Proteus.

While the Marines need more troop variants (esp jump packs, boarding equipment and close combat gear) it is time for the toaster-lovers to get some plastic love.

The native predators on Caliban were mostly mutated beasts, so its not out of character for the lion pelt to have an extra tail.

I'm not knowledgeable of the different marks of SM armour... Is it usual to put head visors on your knees?

I tried dabbling with 40k9/10 again and tried AoS3 - Nice models, naff games, but I'm enjoying HH2 and loving Battletech Classic and Alpha Strike.

You clearly don't understand the lore!

He was amputated at both knees after an heroic last stand which crippled him. He is now born into battle by two watchers wearing power armour.

I like it!

- Detailed without being overburdened.
- The Tactical Rocks aren't too egregious. That'll make it easier to remove them.
- Chainmail cloak.
- Ewan McGregor head.

Corswain is awesome. I don’t like the hooded head, just doesn’t look like I’ve pictured him (although I’m not hugely sure how I picture him). But everything else is great.

As someone that absolutely hates unhelmeted Marines, I disagree simply because I hate the funky wings on top. Nothing a helmet swap doesn't fix though, as the rest of the model is just fantastic.

I think the official art of him (the busts in the limited SoT books?) has him clean shaven with a short mohawk.
