Hey Dakka.
So, I've moved out to California (from New York). I'm going to school at De Anza Community college. I'm going to get a place to live in greater San Jose area.
I'm just wondering what the scene out here is. I know there's a GW store at the Oakland mall right around there, but what do we have around for clubs/flgs?

Welcome to the bay area. Closest place I know of for 40K gaming in San Jose is Games Workshop at Westfield Oakridge Mall off highway 85 and Game Kastle, which is close to San Jose airport.

I also go to De Anza college and I'm looking for local stores as well as a 40k community. I haven't had much luck yet.

There is a pretty active warhammer group in the South Bay called Faultline. Requires fully painted figures, but lots of good guys. Might have to search Facebook for their group page.

New gaming community started in Vacaville, CA. The store is Outflank Games. Fun place to play, there is a FB group for it, but it is a closed group.

There is a TON of game stores in the bay area. Check out the following GakeKastle (Maountain view, san jose, Freemont Areas) Gamescape (San Francisco & Marin), Endgame (Oakland) , Black Diamond Games (Concord).
There's also some GW stores as well.
Welcome to the Bay Area!

Game Kastle. It's a major player in that area. There's also a GW store in Oakland.

I'm in concord. Black Diamond games in the big dog, although a controversial one (the owner doesn't like miniature players). There's also Equilibrium games, which is an old school open play store. Finally, you can go across the water to Outflank Games in Fairfield, CA, it's a half hour drive but the store is hard core into miniature gaming and they support Warmachine, Guild ball, XWing, and Team Yankee. How is warhammer at games of Berkeley? I live in the area, but it seems like warhammer is only allowed at couple saturdays a month. Is the community small there?
