I have learned the hard way to respect bolters

I learned 20 rapid fire shots can reliably down 1-3 terminators - potentially more.

A SGT armed with a power weapon, or even better a power fist, will then potentially leave a terminator squad dead if they charge. Of course that all requires good troop placement..

Plasma Cannons are the bomb. IMO best utilised in a tower deep in your own deployment zone. Even better, besides a TFC where the techmarine has bolstered the defences!
