Ok so theres a doubles torunament this weekend and Im teaming with a lizardmen player... Talking to alot of other people who are playing, quite a few are going a with a good amount of shooting... so we are going to take advantage of a few things available to us

Lizardmen

priests- EotG, lvl 2(3), scroll- 415

priest- EotG, lvl 2(3), scroll, plaque of tepok- 430

10 skink skirmishers- 70

10 skink skirmishers- 70

3 terradons- 90

3 terradons- 90

salamander w/ extra skink- 80

1245

WoC

Chaos Sorcerer- 85

Exalted Hero- MoK, BSB, Shield- 155

15 Chaos Warriors- MoK, Shields, Full Command- 300

15 Chaos Warriors- MoK, Shields, Full Command- 300

15 Chaos Warriors- MoK, Shields, Full Command- 300

20 Marauders- MoS, Shields- 110

1250

So basically we decided I was going to be the bulk infantry for the army, while he supplied the rather big things... The skink priests on engines are basically our trick to the lists. We plan to set up the army so all of our army gets the 5+ ward save from shooting attacks, which should make it quite a bit harder for enemies to take down my already hard to kill warriors. On top of that, they cause the skink priests to be lvl 3, giving them 2 dispel dice each, allowing our total dispel dice to keep up with enemy wizards with 2 power dice. This should give us a grand total of 9 dispel dice which should keep us nice and safe since no one can take a magic lord... The terradons will generally be used to march block, take out some warmachine crews, and even release fanatics if need be! Basically being a full CC army I will probably just march forward and try to get into combat as quick as possible! The BSB is there just to make it that much harder to break my warriors. Any suggestions as to what we can add/change to make this a overall better list for taking out magic, close combat, or shooty armies?

Decent considering that you have all the blocks. I would suggest taking the Diadem on a Priest for more anti-magic. It seems like a pretty solid plan right now!

With the strong magic defense from the Lizards, you might consider dropping the Chaos Sorcerer. 85 pts for 1 DD seems a bit much. Use the 85 + drop 1 CW and buy a unit of marauder horsemen with flails. OR cut down one of the CW units and upgrade to lv2 with Puppet.

Well the main reason for the Chaos Sorcerer was because I need a general! Since my bsb cant be the general I went with a cheap alternative that also gave a hand in a tad bit more magic def. I could always make a few adjustments to provide for a second exalted rather than a sorcerer however I would loose infantry and since Im the one who is supposed to be supplying the bulk of the army Im not sure it would end over too well.

Well the list didnt work out so well in the end.

Game 1 (Capturing Table Corners) vs Emire/Brets- Due to some fairly bad rolling and bad placement, we lost both stegs and didnt capture enough table corners in the end.

Game 2 (Kill the enemy general and keep yours alive) vs Deamons/Daemons- Needless to say this scenario sucked big time for us... not only did we have extremely squishy generals but we were playing Daemons! Needless to say this was a fun game with alot of funny moments (such as my last unit of warriors rolling insane courage against outnumbering daemons on the last turn!) We ended up losing both generals while not killing theirs.

Game 3 (KILL!) vs Goblins/Goblins- This game was rather... stupid... There was alot of misguided info comming from one of the players (infact after the tourny, I was talking to some other people who said he tends to cheat) which resulted in 2 dead stegadons from night goblin units (My warriors have hard time killing stegs so I dont know how this was even possible..) and warriors loosing combat on the flank... needless to say there was alot of unfair events taking place and we ended the game with 2 skinks..

So the list didnt work out exactly as planned but oh well... you lose and learn aye?

On the other hand I got to play a 4400 pt game against night goblin army after the tourny which was probably the best game Ive ever played. Besides him using 30 fanatics and most of them killing each other on the second turn, there was just tons of slow/hilarous moments and we ended up calling it a tie due to only playing 2 full turns.
