I have been toying with some Daemon lists that utilize mixing pavane having heralds on chariots with daemon princes running pavane and breath of chaos. It seems like if you throw some flamers on top of that you get a really nasty mini lash style list that no one is immune to since it's not a psychic power. I've never seen lists based on this, but see dozens of lash lists everyday, i was wondering why that is and what people thing of A Pavane Hvy list. With 4 heralds and 3 daemon princes you can have 7 in one army, all on units immune to instant death and sporting 4 or 5 wounds!

I only trade in US thanks.

Well, for Daemons Pavane doesnt do anything to vehicles (well other than a dread). Thus, by taking all 4 HQs and 3 Heavy spots, you lose the opportunity for tzeentch bolt shots and soul grinders, AND the opportunity for Fateweaver + Bloodthirster.

I have seen Fateweaver + Bluescribes + Masque, with grinders and Blood Crushers. The scribes and Masque both can pavane, and with Fateweaver they are not so easy to kill right off. No bloodthirster hurts for some matchups, but you still get the uber killyness of Fateweaver backed Bloodcrushers. Take 4 or so min troops, and the grinders take the s8 large blast, and your happy. Plus, you can pavane a unit closer to make up for the slow speed of Blood Crushers, and Pavane walkers away since you have no thirster to deal with them.

Focussing solely on Pavane leaves you vulnerable ofcourse. Nevertheless I try having one or two in my lists.

DevianID has some nice tips. Personally, when pared with Fateweaver, I also like the Slaanesh Daemon Prince with Pavene. With high targetsaturation you might even leave IH at home (since 5++ rerolled is OKish). That DP then only costs 120 points, has BS5 and is more durable than the Masque...

Also: don't Pavane walkers away, use Pavane to turn them around and shoot the weak rear armor with Fateweaver and the Bluescribes. ;-)

Focussing heavily on Pavane Id try something like
225 KoS, Pavane
100 Masque
130 Blue Scribes
190 6 Fiends, UM
105 3 Flamers
105 3 Flamers
151 8 Horrors, Bolt, Changeling
168 12 Daemonettes
168 12 Daemonettes
48 3 Screamers
150 DP, MoS, IH, Pavane
150 DP, MoS, IH, Pavane
160 Soulgrinder, Phlegm
1850 total

Thing is, a list like this is great fun to play, but ultimately fragile and lacks in potency against some opposing lists, like mechanised lists for instance. Since Mechanised lists are so popular, you may want to leave this list at home when going to a tournament. For competitive play take something like DevianID suggested: Fateweaver, Bluescribes, HeraldoT on a chariot, Crushers, Fiends, Horrors, Plaguebearers and 3 DP's (2 Tzeentch w Bolt, 1 Slaanesh w. Pavene). A list like that has a lot less Pavane fun, but is a lot more potent against varying types of lists.

Good luck, Cilithan
