In some of the pics of the Skaven Plague Furnace, also seen on pg37 in White Dwarf #360, there is this wonderful blue patina/verdigris shown on the model. For example, where the metal touches stone. I have no clue as to what color that is! I'm still new to the game and any paints outside the P3 lines, save Tin bitz.

So I ask what color(s) would I use to achieve that patina/verdigris blue effect?

Thought I should Add a Pic...

Thanks in advance guys

I think they have used hawk turquiose from the GW range on it to get the verdigris effect

I use hawk turquoise, heavily watered down, slathered all over the metal.. and then quickly remove most of it with kitchen towel... it gets nicely into the recesses there, and also leave a bit of a gradient from there it's been removed and already slightly stained the rest of the metal...

Thanks for the help so far guys!

yeah I saw they were using Hawk turquoise for there effect in the step by step of the screaming bell they have up on GW. Although it is a good verdigris effect, it's not what I'm looking for. I'm trying to figure out that cool slimy blue color in the pic above. I'll be sure to try out Hawk Turquoise in future verdigris projects.

the verdigris on the Plague furnace pic above looks like Hawk turquoise to me, and it's what they use in the studio...

the tones are all slightly different with GW's pics anyway...

if you want a true blue, that looks a bit like this tone, try Arcane Blue from P3...

I would say the color is Hawk Turqoise like every one is indicating, however 'eavy metal's verdigris tends to make the metal look likes its glowing not corroding. If you do decide to do this technique I would reccomend looking at actual verdigris and not the glowing stuff 'eavy metal usually puts out (although they paint fantastically, I feel some times they go a little overboard with somethings i.e. verdigris).
